Arsenal fans need to consider what it took to stop this behemoth.

2019-2020 Liverpool played 29 matches before Covid hit. They won 27, drew 1 and lost one. They finished 32-3-3 on 99 points when play resumed in June 2020.

Arsenal have won a club record 27 matches this season and it's probably not going to be enough some Sunday. They've been awesome since they beat Liverpool in London back in early February but they're likely going to come up short.

The bar in England right now is utterly ridiculous.

Oh we are all very... very aware. I did that math, should Arsenal win Sunday and end with 89 points, it would be enough to have won the EPL 18 of the previous 31 seasons. Plus potentially 2 more for 20 if Arsenal end with a better goal difference than 2 City championships.

It's absurd what teams need to do right now to just compete with City, and City fans can say what they want, but the 115 charges, and what their legal team has done to delay everything in the courts loom large. Sad reality is, even if something is done, retroactively awarding championships is hollow.

The standard has certainly been raised.

The situation that is happening off the pitch with City doesn't seem to matter unless you're in proximity to them. Arsenal supporters have jumped into the fray on Twitter the last two years because they've been in the title hunt. Man United fans couldn't really give a shit because they're irrelevant and City have prevented both Liverpool and Arsenal from winning Leagues, and those are two traditional Man United rivals.

Fact is, City play very good football under Guardiola and were doing so even before he arrived. Half of the "Big Six" hasn't done their part in being competitive (Chelsea, Man United, Spurs). I doubt anything happens off the pitch that is of consequence and I doubt that if/when Guardiola leaves there is going to be a drop off that is significant. Curious to see what his next move might be, but at this point, I assume he goes for the one thing left before he goes: The Quad.

I can't see how Poch leaving makes sense for Chelsea on any level...
1) He took a shitshow and made it a coherent top 6 team by the end of the season. No small feat for a team in a repetitive mode of self sabotage.
2) Even Bayern can't find manager and Liverpool found...Arne Slot.
3) Financial fair play applies to managerial +/- as well, right?
4) Who, in their right mind, would want to manage there?

My only thought is that Poch and Todd B had a huge falling out and Poch has his next appointment lined up. That is the only way it makes sense for him to agree to mutually part ways (I assumed that he won't receive the max buy out).

Maybe Bayern for him? Somewhere else?

As a sad Spurs supporter, I am happy to see him leaving because he has Chelsea humming the last half of the season.

I assume Poch has a TV and or iPhone to be well aware of what this club has been about past and present under the previous and current ownership. Graham Potter the same.

Say what you want about Brendan Rodgers, but he had the sense to not entertain Chelsea and still continues to do so. Nobody is ever going to be there for a Fergie/Wenger/Pep/Klopp type of tenure.
