Will be interesting and probably more exciting when Pep hangs it up.
This seems to be the popular theory. I have my doubts about that. The trophy cabinet wasn't barren when he got there.
Juventus with the 1-0 Coppa Italia final victory over Atalanta. Chippy match, horrible officiating. Fun one to watch tho. Likely Allegri's swan song.

So, in other words, it was two Italian teams. LOL.

Oh we are all very... very aware. I did that math, should Arsenal win Sunday and end with 89 points, it would be enough to have won the EPL 18 of the previous 31 seasons. Plus potentially 2 more for 20 if Arsenal end with a better goal difference than 2 City championships.

It's absurd what teams need to do right now to just compete with City, and City fans can say what they want, but the 115 charges, and what their legal team has done to delay everything in the courts loom large. Sad reality is, even if something is done, retroactively awarding championships is hollow.
Mark my words, before ManCity is penalized they will adjust or modify the FFP rules and retroactively allow MC to keep going without penalty.

Oh I'm sure it will either be that, or... Welllllll they broke the rules, but we can't do anything about it now so, "Don't do that again Man City!"

"See, we gave them a stern talking, it's all fine."

The standard has certainly been raised.

The situation that is happening off the pitch with City doesn't seem to matter unless you're in proximity to them. Arsenal supporters have jumped into the fray on Twitter the last two years because they've been in the title hunt. Man United fans couldn't really give a shit because they're irrelevant and City have prevented both Liverpool and Arsenal from winning Leagues, and those are two traditional Man United rivals.

Fact is, City play very good football under Guardiola and were doing so even before he arrived. Half of the "Big Six" hasn't done their part in being competitive (Chelsea, Man United, Spurs). I doubt anything happens off the pitch that is of consequence and I doubt that if/when Guardiola leaves there is going to be a drop off that is significant. Curious to see what his next move might be, but at this point, I assume he goes for the one thing left before he goes: The Quad.

Big win for Leeds. One step closer to going back to the Premiership.

Hoping for Southampton tomorrow and then Southampton again vs Leeds. Two proper clubs who belong up, though.

I can't see how Poch leaving makes sense for Chelsea on any level...
1) He took a shitshow and made it a coherent top 6 team by the end of the season. No small feat for a team in a repetitive mode of self sabotage.
2) Even Bayern can't find manager and Liverpool found...Arne Slot.
3) Financial fair play applies to managerial +/- as well, right?
4) Who, in their right mind, would want to manage there?

My only thought is that Poch and Todd B had a huge falling out and Poch has his next appointment lined up. That is the only way it makes sense for him to agree to mutually part ways (I assumed that he won't receive the max buy out).

Maybe Bayern for him? Somewhere else?

As a sad Spurs supporter, I am happy to see him leaving because he has Chelsea humming the last half of the season.

No Harvey Elliot. Wow. Dude had a great year. Better than several of those persons.

In the midfield, maybe he beats Adam Wharton?

Underrated player. His time will come, be it under Southgate or whoever is next.

Strong England team. Their time is now.

Except for the 5-0 game in April against Arsenal... :pepper:

But yeah, this all just reeks of the continued toxicity of Chelsea... GOOD

I assume Poch has a TV and or iPhone to be well aware of what this club has been about past and present under the previous and current ownership. Graham Potter the same.

Say what you want about Brendan Rodgers, but he had the sense to not entertain Chelsea and still continues to do so. Nobody is ever going to be there for a Fergie/Wenger/Pep/Klopp type of tenure.

Favorite player ever. In my opinion, the greatest leader of this generation of footballers.
It will always be sad that his body failed him so many times, or he'd be right up there with the best center backs of this millennium.

I was nervous for him when he "reportedly" turned down the Chelsea job to stay with Burnley, because he felt he owed it to the club to stay with them through the promotion season into the PL.

I assume he had to have an inkling that even if he failed with Burnley in the PL, which he very much did, that bigger jobs would still be available to him.
Props to him for gambling on himself.

Taking over that Bayern squad, that will likely be very hungry going into next season, is an amazing landing spot for him.
Hopefully a two-three year run, then can come back home and take over at City once Pep finally decides to hang them up.
