I’m in. I think you can play online in cross platform with the preset teams but not in Dynasty. Hence this thread.

The game is going to be on both systems but you can't play people across platforms.

Is it just dynasties that can’t cross play? You can for regular games?

So what's out thoughts on format? I liked the idea someone suggested in the other thread of using only 2* teams. Maybe we make a pool of every 2* team available and then draw numbers for the order of how we pick?

Same. Best part is I’ll be off finishing paternity leave when this comes out. Plan on putting in some serious work for the nostalgia.

I can't remember for sure but IIRC we used to progress weeks on like Wednesdays and Sundays. Or quicker if everyone finishes their games early.

I havent played in the online dynasty before. I assume with the game coming this week, we need to establish some rules. What teams are allowed? What day we advance the week? Who plays whom? Game settings? Etc?

We had talked about only being able to pick from the 1 star caliber teams. Once we have a final list of people that are in we can make a random draft order like for fantasy football and then pick 1 star teams one by one.

We can take a vote on what day/days would be best to progress.

I would say plus of having teams split up into separate conferences is that it's more likely that many users end up in the playoffs. If we load say the B1G with every user team then only a handful will be able to make the playoffs. Vs having us spread out 4 per conference or something theoretically the whole playoffs could consist of users.

The negative would be that there would be more user vs computer games that people have to play through. And you'd probably miss out on some user vs user matchups during a season.

I kind of like the idea of splitting into 2-4 conferences. A few pros I see:

1) If there’s a big skill disparity between players, we lessen the amount of times people get rocked by the really good players. This can kill the fun pretty quick and has killed other video game leagues I’ve been a part of.

2) Could be fun to have the argument of which conference leader is really the best team and then get to settle that in a big bowl or playoff, much like in real life

3) Fewer user vs user games gives more scheduling flexibility and will (hopefully) make it easier for everyone to get games in and keep things moving (another way I’ve seen leagues die)

I didn't even realize there would be user vs. AI games, just assumed everything was user vs. user. But, that makes sense. Again, I've never really played in a league before, just online games.
