Tell me georgia already has 3 x 5 star WRs locked up?
The others aren’t that much of a worry.

If we don’t land him this a bad sign for our “ recruiting” efforts.
What does this mean lmao, nice recent string of elite top 100 CB commits, especially one from Florida. The 5 star WR from CA not committing to ND is a bad sign though.

These are the players we continue to struggle to land. Theses are the players we need to be able to compete with the top 10 teams and win.

ND was the 11th most "talented" team per 247 last year (2023). MF has elevated the team talent from Kelly's last year (2021) by 20 points.

Lincoln Riley improved USC by 12 points.

BK saw a talent decline from when he took over of -2 points.

Freeman is pushing the team closer to the top. The QB recruiting has taken an incredible step up under Freeman.

If you want to pin your worries on players that can change that trajectory of the program outside of like generational talent, it is only QB's and Freeman has dominated there. CJ Williams in 2022 was the #7 WR on the 247 comp, Meadows is the #6 now - did ND have it's trajectory altered because of that?

You see our wr play last year?

In 2021 ND was 12th in talent…yes freeman is recruiting better than Kelly but ever so slightly better. Good but not good enough to compete yearly (if that’s the goal)

Not necessarily, it seems like this kid really likes ND but 'rumblings' are he is obsessed with the SEC and the idea of being recruited by 'certain' SEC schools. Seems like a UGA/ND/Bama battle.

I don’t understand why we continue to argue Kelly Recruiting vs. Freeman recruiting. The nature of recruiting in those times are WORLDS different with the portal and NIL. It’s like comparing apples and spaghetti.

It's important to remember that Washington was NDs biggest competition before Meadows really started to blow up due to camp circuit/7v7 performances into the new calendar year.

Most of the former Washington staff, inlcuding JaMarcus Sheppard, is now with Bama. Bama churns out receivers all the time, but that staff is gone. But, Sheppard did just produce a first rounder (Odunze), second rounder (Polk), and third rounder (McMillan) this past NFL Draft. It's no surprise Bama is in the hunt for him.

I don't know who wins out in the end. Even though ND was the first to jump on him, Meadows' history with Sheppard & his development of WRs, could seal the win for Bama here.

Simply make sure he leaves his OV committed and that he doesn't take the Bama visit

I did. I know that it wouldn't have been magically fixed by a true freshman WR like Jalen Hale (#6 in the 247 WR 2023 rankings.)

Ok, so Freeman is improving on Kelly.....we're just shitting our pants because of vibez and feelz. 1014 wants to ignore the positive movements in recruiting with top 100 CB's and say "this is a bad sign about recruiting".

What are we even doing here? Bad sign of recruiting? How anyone can ignore improvements in recruiting to just fill their pants because of a singular recruit (that isn't even a QB!!) because our fee-fee's can't take it? My goodness.

National signing day is in February. Sometimes big fish take longer to reel in.

I’ll keep it classy and ask what % you think Freeman’s raised recruiting over BK?

This is easier than an open book test, it gets better and better with each class.

When Freeman first got hired he mentioned how recruiting was important to him.

It's also impressive how the decommits have decreased under Freeman.

QB recruit and DB recruiting have improved significantly. RB is a bit better as well. Went from good to better. OL is about the same as are most other positions. It’s true probably D line has gone backwards slightly under freeman.

Can we ban this guy? Idk if we’ve ever had a more unpleasant regular poster on IE. Guy sucks.

There is no question Freeman is recruiting better than Kelly. If you question that you aren’t paying attention.

Again I have to agree with you that the QB recruiting is night and day compared to previous coaches. Again no questions there.

The WR position as we all know has been struggling. Yes I understand this year we had some transfers and I would guess in the future that is a position we will probably get some good quality there. But Meadows is a game changer. Like we both agreed on the QB position, they need weapons. The running back room is doing great with their coach and they aren’t too guys but good solid prospects.

In 2 years CJ throwing to Williams and Meadows is a game changer. Thats how you win big games with game changing talent.

Again, look at the past 5 years of #6 WR in the composite. There is not a single game changer among them. Let alone someone there that would change how someone should view ND's recruiting efforts. There is no point to label players outside of the top 3/5 of their position as "game changing".

2023 - Jalen Hale
2022 - Kevin Coleman
2021 - Jojo Earle
2020 - Jordan Johnson
2019 - Kyle Ford

NOTE - I didn't realize that Meadows was the #9 WR in the composite until after looking up the #6 WR's. Meadows is the #6 by 247, not the composite. My point is further made if you look at the #9 WR's.

Meadows is a high ceiling low floor, Koyack level potential. He has been shown the red carpet as much as anyone. We did all the right things and were in early. Like Shanklin it looks likely that all over our early love opened the offer flood gate for them to go to what they perceive as the bigger no school dog bama, georgia, osu whatever. We did all the right things and he likely goes elsewhere. The only thing that changes that is if other tier 1 offers didn’t come. If he blows us off fuck him. If he comes love him. The cali roberts or robertson kid is a better player now and more a sure thing producer anyways.

It’s kinda comical how poorly this group has turned out. Ford’s 2022 stats of 360 yards and 2TDs as a Heisman winner’s fifth option are the single season best of the bunch thus far. The jury is probably still out on the last two guys but yikes that list hasn’t been great
