:ROFLMAO: Im not, you said dems are stupid and "pussys" so I'm just clowning on you for not realizing that educated people are leaving the GOP. Par for the course for modern conservatives though.
Cool, you still don’t know how to obtain an ID, congrats. 🤡

So what you are saying is if states made voter ID mandatory, federal government says they have to be free… solves the problem everyone is bitching about.
If they made ID mandatory they wouldn't have a choice. I was just explaining Gowers point.

No I don't think it would stop the bitching. The bitching isn't just about the cost. Requiring voter ID is a solve to a nonexistent problem. For all the complaining we hear about illegals or dead people voting, seemingly no one can provide any sort of evidence of it actually happening anywhere.

So to solve this "problem" you put an extra step in the process of voting which can do nothing but suppress some portion of voter turnout. Also of all the IDs that would be acceptable by far the most common is a drivers license. It's worth noting that the demographics that are least likely to have a drivers license (urban voters, black voters, and young voters) all overwhelmingly vote blue.

I’m talking about the bitching on this forum. It seems the only issue is “I’d be for voter ID if it were free”. In states that have voter ID they are free. To the solve the “problem” that doesn’t exist. That was my point.

You are incorrect about pollsters only allowing a drivers license. A government ID is needed to vote. In states that require an ID the government non-driving ID is free. Drivers licenses are not free.

Even in this left leaning hit piece they admit they are wrong:

No study has the final word, but the research is all inconclusive enough to suggest that practical barriers to voting have a fairly small effect on whether people actually vote.

What explains this? MIT political science professor Adam Berinsky offered one theory at the Stanford Social Innovation Review: “The more significant costs of participation are the cognitive costs of becoming involved with and informed about the political world. … Political interest and engagement, after all, determine to a large extent who votes and who does not.”

Which is allowed at the polls. Yes it costs money and most voting aged people have one. Those that don’t can get a free government ID. So for the people on this forum stating their only obstacle to being for voter ID is cost, it’s an imaginary issue that doesn’t exist.

Plenty of studies on how voter identification laws negatively impact turnout.

It certainly doesn't help that when a state does offer free ID's they disproportionately close offices in minority communities.

But like Gattaca said, alleged cases of fraud seem to always turnout to be Republican supporters. Small detail overlooked, I'm sure.

Like Hilary and all the democrats in 2016? Or Trump and the red hats in 2020… losers will always complain.

What does Hilary losing in 2016 have to do with your various points you're trying to make? Explain because I don't want to "strawman" or "vortex" or "just try to argue".

It would seem to me, that you're conceding the voter ID point because we know that voter ID laws are negatively hurting more than they are helping. To which you said it's small and exaggerated.

You have taken this convo on every left and right turn and when I take a slight left all of a sudden “what’s your point strawman vortex”.

I’m still for voter ID and it appears so is the rest of the board “as long as it’s free”.

Let’s take a hypothetical 10 million people and line them up in a line. When they come inside we get their name and that is it, nothing else. Let’s say all you did was give them a bag skittles and then let them walk out the back door no questions asked. What are the chances 10 million out of 10 million people gave you the correct name? Thats voting in California.

Then days afterward you say “you can’t provide fraud”… because you have no idea how to prove who even walked through the door.

lol no, I literally posted proof that non-university educated white people vote Republican after you got in your feelings about how "Dems are pussys and stupid". You wanted to get my thoughts on Voter ID after getting emotional with Gower, and just disregarding Gattaca. I showed proof that voter id laws negatively impact minority communities, to which you said "its tiny and exaggerated" contradicting your initial position that voter ID is needed to combat election fraud.

You have been proven wrong by literally everyone, and still insist on going down this path. I know the typical Blazers response will be "you just want to win arguments!!!' to which I say I just wanted to shit post about you calling dems stupid when educated people vote blue and you brought me into this little discussion on voter ids.

I've stayed on point with actual support, and you're just going off vibez and emotion. It's literally universally supported to have some sort of voter ID and you can't articulate that point just that "dems pussys and stupid!", sounds like a person who just wants to argue.

The conversation was about cost of ID because that is the only hurdle for Gower to be for voter ID (he says). My point on being pussys and stupid is you guys can’t figure out how to obtain an ID. Then you post college educated stats and start talking about white hillbilly’s because why?To prove that democrats can indeed find a way to obtain IDs? Then you are proving my point. You dems are smart, great… then they can find a way.

Idk how voter ID hurts anyone. The number of Americans without a valid ID has to be a number approaching zero. And of those without it...it isn't a population that particularly is inclined to participate in civic activities like voting

We're pretty much allied with Hamas now. Not sure why any Jew would vote blue.

That's it Joe!

Please your donors and the 'Death to America' crowd in Michigan and elsewhere who you desperately need.

This after Blinken strongly urged Hamas to accept Israels 'extraordinarily generous truce offer'.

Pure Michigan....er....Democratic Party.

I saw something earlier this week how the usual conservative boogeyman Soros was behind some of the protests, only to have liberal publications discredit it saying he hasn't given since 2018. Now Politico is saying Soros as well as Rockefeller and Gates have contributed to the groups involved.

You guys? You may find this incredibly hard to believe, but some people actually care about others. So, when someone is advocating for a disadvantaged group it doesn't mean that they are part of that group. I know I know, wild concept.

Posted studies above. Pretty well documented that putting more restrictions on ID leads to lower turnout and disproportionally impact people of colour. No matter how it's spun, the cases of actual voter fraud will be infinitely lower than those hurt by increased restrictions.

I would say this is one of those "slippery slope" moments that conservatives like to talk about with deciding it's not necessarily a big deal because the perception is that poorer POC aren't inclined to participate in civic activities.

This doesn't carry much weight and I'm surprised an educated accountant would rely on this weak argument. There's plenty of college grads (of all genders, races, and creeds) making latte's at Starbucks and pouring beers at craft breweries, and it's been going on for more than a decade.

Meanwhile, there's also thousands of people who don't have 4 year degrees far better off doing work like pipe fitting, boiler room operators, and other trades.

Educated does not = intelligence.

lmao because dumb hillbilly's are part of my family. I'm not punching down on people I don't understand. I know them perfectly well.

Believe it or not, I do care about my friends and family in ARI/GA/TEX/NY. But, yeah I do care about being right.

Rely? As opposed to just throwing out baseless claims? Would it have been stronger to just say "Dems are pussys and stupid"? No? Ok.

Education is not a perfect indicator of intelligence but is better than....nothing. How would you measure intelligence?

By being able to obtain and use a government ID is a good start.
It's not an intelligence issue. It's an effort and annoyance issue.

You're basically asking these people to make another trip to the DMV. Unsurprisingly some portion aren't going to do it. Either because they don't have time, can't get out of work to go do it, don't remember to go in time, or simply don't feel like it.

Those peoples votes are being suppressed in order to stop something that we have no proof actually happens at all. It's kind of surprising how widespread the belief is when there isn't even one good anecdotal example of it having happened that people can point to and scream about.

It doesn't even really make sense logistically when you sit down and think about it. Even in states that don't require voter IDs, you still need to be registered ahead of time to vote. So are these illegals going into polling places and assuming other registered people's identities to vote in their place? What happens when that person actually comes in to vote for themselves? Or what if they already had voted? How haven't we heard stories about this happening anywhere? Obviously republican poll station workers who must be seeing this happen all the time would say something? Or are illegals somehow illegally registering to vote? If so that's not really an issue with voter ID's anyways.

It's just another tactic to try and suppress votes. In a tight election even a tiny percentage of these type of voters being dissuaded can make the difference.

Here's more RNC horseshit in the same vein. There's no evidence of ANY widespread mail-in ballot fraud. But we know which demographic mail-in ballots favor so of course they want to attack that form of voting.

Out of respect for my own lack of effort and annoyance I am not going to read the rest of your post.
