Based purely on offer lists / timing of offers, it seems like teams prefer Grubbs to Hart, even if it’s marginal.

I meant for my original post to be in the '26 thread, my bad. Move if you would like, but I will leave this nugget here since I already started the '26 QB convo here this morning.

Loy finally popped in for a change and made the comment Ryder Lyons in now in the mix for ND. In his top 4 and loves Denbrock

From the IB boards.

Ryan Roberts answered a question on "what's the good word" regarding Golden/Blair/Zackery

In order: Feel very good, Feel very good, Feel good

Excellent news.
Does anyone else feel like the optics of this class changes if we land the DB's we're targeting?

It certainly doesn’t hurt. Can’t believe we can’t find another Traore level vyper project also.

Right now we sit at 256 in the 247 rankings, which would already put us in low to mid-teens most years if we dont land a single additional commit.

If we land the following 5 prospects, all of which we likely lead for, and no one else (and no decommitments) we'll end up at 280 right now, the highest of Freeman's time at ND.

Jadon Blair
Mark Zackery
Derrick Meadows
Tanook Hines
Madden Faraimo (most unlikely rn)

Can't wait to look back on this thread at the end of the summer with how things are trending.

2 more WR, a DE, LB, and 2 more DBs puts us at 26.

Does ND talk to Terry about his Missouri visit as they seem to be trending with both Hines and Boggs? For those that missed it, Golden said during his committ interview he was recruiting Boggs the hardest.

Meadows is always a take.

They gotta find a DE prospect, newest intel is the Florida commit, but they need to grow a board and hopefully land someone with upside.

They cut back the LB board after Sacca committed which should indicate they like landing one of the 4 remaining (NOB, Faraimo, Nix, Mikhail)

They are in good position with Blair, Zackery, and Haynes with other prospects taking OVs as well.

Petty on the OL is probably in best player available category for takes.

Good chance on the calculator they land between 285-290. I would throw a dart at around 5th-6th class overall.

Let’s see how this ages…

Good breakdown. Any idea on the numbers that they want to take? Could this class go to 28-29?

Thanks.

I think the numbers will be depending on more factors then in years past. It is wayyyyy too early to predict NEXT seasons roster….but here we go.

Currently the roster is at 87 and they hosted the CB from Rice and Freeman said they were going after a punter.

14 graduates, 11 seniors, 16 juniors, 23 sophomores, and 23 freshmen.

There will be roughly another 5 players to transfer out of the program between now and fall camp.

Conventional wisdom states those transferring players probably have another year of eligibility after this year, so from the Junior or sophomore class, would put next years roster around 57 (16+23+23-5) rising seniors, juniors, and sophomores.

Currently Thomas, Coogan, Spindler, Onye, and Rubio stand a good chance to get a 5th year (57+5=62) and the yearly attrition is likely to hit a couple prospects from the 3 classes above (62-6=56).

Now if they bring in 26-27 players in the 2025 recruiting class, that would put them at 82-83. 6 players out is likely too low, so if it’s rounded to 10 (82/83-4= 78-79), that would allow another 6-7 transfers in.

28 is likely too high in the portal era when you can add instant impact players with experience. I would be surprised if the class was under 25 as well.

I wonder if Trystan Haynes is still a possibility. It's so refreshing how this staff seemingly over recruits to ensure we aren't left in the wind if we miss out on certain players.

Board expansion.

I can see why On3 has high ranked inside their Top 175. His DB film is good, but he seems to be a more natural WR.

More options puts pressure on Meadows and Taylor types to shit or get off the pot. If you’re still looking we are still looking

Also, currently Offense - 42, Defense - 44, ST - 1

Yea, I doubt this is an offer because someone came off the board and more of an expansion in case it's necessary and so that we can help put these other guys in decision mode perhaps.
