Great academics, great city, great campus, "Catholic" school.
It's Jesuit so not really Catholic at all.
I lived in Manchester, NH for a year. From the sights and sounds of things, BC hockey was the school's #1 priority and football was a distant second. This is really dumb because football drives everything else in D1 athletics, but it's really hard to get talent to BC. Then when you arrive, you have to get past the local Boston accent which is gross.

On the positive side, Boston waterfront in summertime is gorgeous. When you're on a restaurant boat eating lobster mac n cheese with an Allagash white, all is well in life.

You are correct about the Boston waterfront in summertime (if not the accent, but OK). Lobster mac n cheese, however, is a desecration of lobster. Philistine.

Great academics, great city, great campus, Catholic school. Lots of reasons to choose BC. BC has had very good seasons before and can get there again. Need a coach who can identify talent in New England, the mid-Atlantic, and the midwest and recruit and develop them.

Disclaimer: I am a native New Englander and BC Law grad.

After two seasons he hasn’t developed a single player that wasn’t already playing or expected to play starter level snaps. He’s been living off Elston’s guys and veteran transfers. Maybe that changes this year, doesn’t seem likely, but Washington is super overrated as a coach.

Because he still hasn’t. Name one player that wasn’t a starting caliber player that now after two seasons is? He’s bringing back all of Elston’s guys or a transfer because of it.

Took JJB from a non factor at OSU to a day 2 pick possibly.

Burnham, Hinish, Onye all in the rotation now, has Mills playing by far the best ball of his career.

Onye and Rubio (whatever's up with him) are very good they're just behind guys who are even better. Burnham and Traore next. Yeah, it sucks that he has made the absolute most out of Howard Cross and Rylie Mills and so "his" guys can't get on the field as much.

A non-factor at OSU? He played 249 snaps in 2022. He just came to ND so he could play 75%+.

He developed Burnham, Hinish, and Onye into what? They don't even play. While I think they are good players, they contributed less to last season, combined, than JJB did on 2022. Literally, their combined snap counts are less than half of what JJB played in 2022. If JJB at OSU is a non-factor, I'd hate to say what those guys would be considered.

None of this is grounded in facts, just hype and emotion.

You mentioned I said this last Spring. I called this very conversation two years ago. When Washington was hired everybody was shitting on Elston for his recruiting. The narrative was, Washington was going to come in and increase the talent in the room. When that didn't happen because Elston's guys were already very good players or underappreciated talents, folks would just give him the credit for "developing" them.

BC 247 writer thinks it’s trending towards BOB but still hearing a lot about Al Washington.

Bill O’Brien probably is a home run for them and also the most hilarious outcome for OSU and Sayin
Does Sayin really like O'Brien?

Turned JJB from a non draftable prospect to a guy who will get drafted. Burnham Hinish and Onye all play, mister facts. Sorry Burnham doesn't play more over stud JJB? Sorry he developed Mills into a total stud? You want him to bench Cross so he can play his guys to prove some sort of point? Sorry Gobaira got hurt for the season? His guy Traore is primed to pass up JR. Yeah you called it lol

You said JJB was a “non-factor” at OSU but give Washington credit for developing 3 guys who are even less of a factor at ND than JJB was at OSU.

The rest of this is you just trying really hard to move goal posts. Have at it.

Apparently. That’s what first got him interested in Alabama and what first opened the door back to OSU. I don’t personally get it
Agreed. Seems like a bizarre coach for a young QB to hook their wagon to.

You want him to bench Mills and Cross to get out of elstons shadow? You're the one being stubborn cuz of a dumb thing you said two years ago

Unsure why I’m even entertaining this. More so it’s proof of how weak the original points you made were.

No. Like I said two years ago. These were/are very good players that Elston should’ve never been trashed for. And, Washington would do nothing more than ride those coattails. Good on him.

Elston was getting trashed for who exactly? In these past couple COVID seasons, most programs lineman are going to be upperclassmen. So yeah Al is going to be using Elstons guys....

Mills' play exploded this season. You can give that credit to Elston I guess LOL

Mills was a true Sophomore that had 3 sacks and 3 TFL. He was a Senior who had 5.5 TFL’s and 2.5 sacks, playing significantly more snaps.

Again, I love these players. Always did. Washington gets very little credit for guys who were very productive 3 years ago.

LOL, DL play isn’t only TFL and sacks. Dude went from 33 tackles to 66 tackles and will be an NFL player
Ha, you asked, I provided.

Cross played 580 (44/game) snaps this season and Mills 510 (40/game). I don’t have the full season 2021 numbers and not going to keep looking for them but they had multiple games where they played 40 snaps, or less, combined. I’d bet snap counts for both were up 70-100% over their 2021 figures.

All you need to do is go back and listen to Elston talk about Cross. He was always on this trajectory. Washington just hasn’t gotten in the way. He doesn’t get 5 stars for not fucking up.
