Seems like Lanning was already lined up.

Man it sucks to be duck fan - lost 3 straight coaches to southern schools. This is in spite of an insane amount of investment, essentially buying themselves into defacto blue blood status like A&M.

theres no way Lanning would go to Tuscaloosa to meet with them. They'd meet somewhere neutral and definitely not in the south.

Lanning hasn’t been a coach long enough to be able to mange that caliber of a program and following the best coach in college football history. I think this could be a mistake.

But if he is hired who do the ducks look at now?

Lanning is an easy choice. He won’t have to add another tattoo, to the tattoo, of his wife. He’s already had a stop at Bama.

Good morning fellas......Heard on the radio this morning that Lanning was fired by the current Bama AD. They didn't say why. Would this affect his chances if true?

Regardless of who is hired, you have to think Bama will not be as good in a couple of years unless they can recruit like Saban. They weren't setting the world on fire before Saban arrived. Will the replacement have as much attention to detail? Will they be as good a recruiter as Saban? Will they be as good a motivator? As already mentioned, it's going to be tough to follow a legend, especially since Saban had Bama in the NC discussion every year.

Holy shit that thing is real?? 🤣 I thought for sure this was satire when I saw the Pitt logo in her tits. Classy.

Coaches are such a weird breed of people.

What about BK? Won the west in his first season.
I think that would bankrupt the state of Alabama. Kelly is at $9.5 million. Bama would have to give him a nice bump then pay the buyout. Plus, those 2 jobs are basically the same in terms of local talent, resources, history, conference, prestige, etc.

I know you're a Sanders fan, but he hasn't proven himself yet. He's been more of a side show than anything. Bama is way more serious about their football than Colorado.
I replied to another poster's joke about Coach Prime awaiting Bama's call with a joke of my own and you're giving me Thursday morning lessons about college football.

I realize to the fullest extent that Alabama is not considering Deion Sanders to take Nick Saban's place. I hope this clears up any kind of confusion.
