He’s a CB and a good one. Probably will seek a team that will need a CB
Gray could take a major step forward and become the next really good CB at ND but mickey somewhat struggled in 23, and didn't take the big step forward I or probably many expected. A sure corner wouldn't be the worst thing to bring in unless coaches are extremely confident in mickey/gray. I personally think towards the end of the year, gray was playing better than Mickey. Safety is a bigger priority no doubt, but a sure corner may give you some flexibility to move mickey to nickel and free up clark to play some safety. Just a thought.

I assume though the ND staff is NOT looking for a corner and only really pushing for a true safety.

I've still got high hopes for Mickey. Guy reminds me of Armando Allen.

Allen felt like every single run was just a shoestring tackle away from being a 20+ yarder... but the defense somehow always got his shoestrings.

Mickey seems to always be in pretty good position, and is even locating and trying to make plays on the ball... but seems to be victim to perfect throw/catch combos at an uncanny rate. Guy sticks to the WR's hip, elevates if it's a high-point throw, rakes his arms across if it's a normal throw, but his fingertips are always juuuuuuuust a few inches away. I've never felt like he's a liability, because he seems to always be right there.

Just a little more good fortune and the guy might have several INT's to his name.

Well he’s at least the first Gray to play DB for ND that will turn around and look for the ball.

Too soon?

His nickname in our house was Almost Allen. Like you said, every carry was literally one that he would almost break into a big one. Loved the kid to death, but it just seemed like he had the worst luck in that regard.

What is the latest on Pace. The safety from Cincy. I think we need one more safety and a corner. We don't know what Lewis is going to do yet and will Tucker stick around.

Back in the Portal as well as Dorian Singer🤦. Let's see if they decide to join another team with inconsistent QB play o stacked WR corp.

Riley Leonard's IG follows remain the best source.

He has 3 career kickoff return TDs. Gotta think this may mean Devyn Ford is leaving and they wanted a new ST return specialist?
Ah then this makes some more sense. Curious, who else is Riley Leonard following?

Have to think this closes down WR right? Maybe he's really just a KR, but I doubt he's being sold he's just a KR.

This could be slot 2.0 behind Fiason, effectively moving Greathouse to boundary full time and shutting down WR portaling IMO.

reading ISD, I think this may be a KR only type cat. Maybe a couple snaps at WR in gimmicks, but they said he's not very polished at wideout.

Size leans me to think he'll back up faison in the slot. Don't hate the depth piece at all

There's no way they're plugging him in at WR in the 2 deep unless they're expecting someone to depart. I really think this is KR "guarantee" and then earn whatever else you can.

With that said, would be shocked if we landed another WR unless absolute home run becomes available because although he's a KR, he will be listed as WR getting to 11 on scholarship for next year if no one leaves after spring.

Why could he not be in the 2-deep at WR? I know nothing about this guy other than he's small and fast.

To get him here you have to pitch him on competing at WR as well as KR/PR, IMO.
