August 31st 2024 cannot get here soon enough.
Year 3 as we all know have been magical years for past ND coaches.
I haven’t been this excited for an ND season since probably 06 with Brady going into his senior season.
Great performance by the boys, and all in all a “good” season.
Marcus going into his third season now has his fingerprints all over the program from every level, so we shall see what he is truly made of now.

Thanks for another fun season IrishEnvy!
Appreciate you all, and this forum is the main reason I feel more informed about ND then any other team I follow closely.

So got a rules question…looked like OSU would take their sweet time subbing when we did which forced our offense into a timeout and a delay of game. Is there some sort of rule with this?

Real solid performance - the OL replacements had real solid games. Ashton Craig, in particular, looks like he has a lot of promise at center. Faison looked better than any recruited WR on the roster. Price looks like he regained his burst - he was outstanding. Angeli was cool, poised and efficient. The DL did what they should have done against a depleted OL - dominate. Just a real solid performance to wrap the season on an upswing. Can't wait until next season.

I really like Angeli. I think he could be a very good QB for us.

But for any of you that think this will be an open competition, you are sadly mistaken. It will be just like this past year with Hartman.

If you take a highly regarded transfer QB from the portal. He is your starting QB next year. Period. Some people may think that's unfair. But it is reality. You want to dry up the transfer portal for the future??...... you take a guy like Leonard and then start Angeli. The only way it isn't Leonard is if he isn't fully healthy.

DAMM WE LOOKED GOOD!!!

My guys: The OLine showed how deep our talent is. Jagusah was MAULING people all game long. The interior line looked powerful. In the first half, we had two sacks that we gave. The second of these was a coverage sack, and Jagusah actually pancaked his man but he fell at Angeli's feet and Angeli stumbled into Baker's man who finally was getting there. The first sack was the only blown one. There Jagusah was destroying his guy. Our three interior guys had three opponents to deal with who were working an elaborate circle stunt. Baker had no one. He went temporarily to sleep staring into space. Schrauth had a hard time seeing the looper coming round. Baker was to slow to focus. BillieS tried to reach out but couldn't and Tosh never reacted until it was too late. THAT WAS A GOOF WHICH CAN BE FIXED --- it was purely mental mostly on Tosh's part. Billie will see the loop quicker in time.

I laughed late in the game when the commentators (who I thought were just fine) remarked on how we had all these second teamers in --- and noticed that they included Kristovic, Abshur, Wagner, etc --- OLinemen that Oregon State would have killed for just then. Our room is as loaded as the coaching can take them.

Outside my guys: WOW the WRs showed up. AND the TEs. AND Angeli --- what a shame that he won't get the full play he deserves.

And the D --- nothing need be said, as long as our DLine is as it looks we're going to be, and it will be hard for anybody to penetrate our DBackfield (ALL of whom will play in the NFL.)

DAMM WE LOOKED GOOD!!!

Parker getting the Troy job is absolutely huge for ND in 2024. Regardless of how many opt outs each team had today, there's no way ND puts up 40 against Oregon State with Parker calling plays. Good grief let's wash 2023 down the sink and get to 2024.

Nope, its a loop hole and smart football.

This game represented to me that ND is excorcising its curses from past years.

Momentum in cfb after a bowl game is non-existent. The O on the field next year will be different than what we saw today, hopefully even awesomer.

Loved the game plan today. Gino put a lot of it on the big guys up front to perform. They did. This program is in good hands moving forward. I know there were a lot of opt outs but in years past our backups would’ve been on par with OSU. The depth was obvious today and our boys were throttle down all game. Great day for the program and very good springboard into spring practices.

Man the freshman and sophomore classes have some talent. They didn’t just step up and play well against a (sorta) P5, they absolutely dominated for their first time in the spotlight. We started 5(!) true freshman on offense and looked very competent. We are going to be very, very good moving forward.

Great creativity and flow with playcalling today to compliment Angelli’s skills and the running back strength. Whoever designed the route tree for this game…(insert Michael Scott “Thank You” gif). Night and day difference from the season (pre Wake Forest) to this game. Also helps having healthy WR’s.

To wrap up, I stated it after the Wake Forest game, but man did we absolutely kick the shit out of teams this year when we won. That is impressive. I think Denbrock and great coaching on offensive will allow Freeman to take the next step for the program.
