Sorry if already talked about, but after listening to the Irish Illustrated podcast today, it sounds like NDs top 2 targets at this stage are Denbrock and Kirby Moore

We need some new blood in the room. Lisa Marie has to be doing gilf porn at this point.
I'm sure she has some younger ones she knows. Hell maybe there are some younger fellas that have a lifelong ambition to play for ND and have gilfs show them a good time

Loy is going to bat for Denbrock. Feel like Freeman has him in his crosshairs. If ND poaches Denbrock it is a sign that they aren't fucking around anymore because it's going to get expen$ive.

Pretty sure LSU won't repay the favor to ND by waiving Denbrock's buyout clause like ND did for Kelly.
There is some scuttlebutt that Denbrock hasn't signed his new deal yet.

Zero reason to think Freeman hadn't reached out BTS to say "hey, look, I can't offer you the job because it isn't open...but there's a greater than zero chance the job will be open soon. So just thought I'd touch base, let you know so you can mull that over if it's something you'd be open to."

Even if he's not interested, Denbrock would be dumb to sign the extension if he had that knowledge in his pocket.

Good arguments for Denbrock are that he'd probably stick around awhile (unlike Kirby Moore who'd probably be looking for a HC job within 18 months), and he has a ton of experience. (Also unlike Moore who's spent one - very good - year at a P5 program).
I do not imagine he is the most dynamic recruiter, but MF seems to put a lot of recruiting on the assistants and on himself (as opposed to coordinators), which is fine.
And his position coaching background includes a lot of time coaching TEs (at Cincy, no less). He's not going to displace Gino, or anyone else currently on staff. (Not that Gino is a "keep at all costs" level assistant but given he's been the guy recruiting Leonard, Carr and Deuce, some continuity at QB coach wouldn't be bad).
As for money, we can't afford to let that be an issue. If he's the sort of guy Freeman wants. I guess that last part is the question. Do you want an old head, or the best young OC on the market?

Hopefully everyone learned their lesson from last year.

No hockey games (or basketball).

Operate in the shadows and no leaks until it's a done deal.

Riley at Clemson gets $2.05M. Grubb gets $2M. Rees is $1.9M, Ludwig is around $1.85M.

If Denbrock turned down TAMU and was/is negotiating with LSU on an extension after Daniels just winning a Heisman, this is going to cost Russian Oligarch with a concussion snorting mountains of cocaine kind of money.

His current salary is $1.4M, according to this site: See contract details for LSU offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock and QB coach Joe Sloan

I could see the Irish improving on that, but if he's simply going to go to the highest number (which I don't think he will, from all reports), it won't be ND.
