Rico has a bit of Logan Diggs to him. If not now... Then probably later.
In hindsight maybe, but I was surprised he decided to leave. It shows that on-field performance doesn't mean much in the transfer portal era. We'll see what kind of impact this has on player development. There are countless examples of kids who persevered (through little playing time, weather, missing family, difficult academics, etc) and developed into great football players as upperclassmen at ND.

Rico was the opposite of Diggs in my opinion. Diggs was always acting like the world was against him. Rico was one of the most humble kids on the team, he was always super grateful for the opportunity and always talked about how most kids with his background don't get opportunities like this. I will always like Rico.

This is why I was surprised by his exit. It seemed that he knew he had won the lottery and was intent on not wasting all the money (so to speak.)

Can’t fault him for picking UCLA if he was homesick. Still gets world class education and is on a competitive team. Somewhere like SDSU or Arizona would have been head scratchers.
But isn’t UCLA still a 2 hr plane ride from Folsom? Folsom I thought was San Fran area.

Any actual word on what happened here?? Seems especially odd

He was Stuckeys boy and Stuckey played favorites with him supposedly. There was a lot of locker room tensions because of that in the WR room. Also always felt he wasn't a fit at ND since he got on campus.

Really wanted him to stay, but if his goal is to not build upon a strong freshmen year and just settle for mediocrity, maybe he will fit well at UCLA?

To be honest I wasn’t real impressed with his athleticism/explosiveness. Not that he couldn’t improve in that area but he didn’t come in with all world athleticism.

I was only impressed with the fact he stayed healthy and caught most of the passes he should have.

A very low bar lol
