My interpretation, he won't visit FSU given Loy's confidence. Don't think Loy would be so confident if he had an awesome visit upcoming.

I'd hate the portal If I were a fan or alum of a G5 or weak P5 team. But I'm not. And I love it. Use Duke, Northwestern, and Stanford as minor league teams. Text any freshman All-American. Send scouts to college graduations. It's the wild west and we've got the big guns.

Yup, ND is in a unique position relative to other football factories to pick these academic-oriented kids off. Would suck to be a low-level P5 fan right now with how hard it is to build your talent level.

tbf for them they just got to be mining FCS and G5 tape for their next playmakers

JJB played at 249 in 2022 and got his weight up to 260 for this last season. And, like you said, it served him very well holding up on the edge.

Oben will be coming in at 260. Played last season at 255. To me, he looks to carry weight easier. I would expect he holds up just as well in the run game.

As awesome as the defense was last year. We need to get back to developing pass rushers again. I think Oben will be a upgrade. But even he is not the type of pass rusher we've had in the very recent past.

Hopefully that comes from Burnham, Traore, etc. Big off-season for Washington, IMO.

Oh I don’t disagree, I just don’t want to undersell how well JJB played.

2 sacks = always Oben.

I think it's important to remember that JJB came in as a good pass rusher but was a detriment in run support at OSU. He got a lot better here. Oben will have less of a learning curve in that regard.
