Someone asked me along time ago what my routine was when I fought professionally. I told them I was dry Sunday through Saturday afternoon & then from about 1400 to bed time on Saturday I could eat & drink whatever I want.
And I still do that today.
But on Saturday afternoons it’s a free-for-all.
And posters told me to get on and talk shit when I did. So I do, because it’s all for fun.

And of course there is one bitch who always runs their mouth.

P.S. I didn’t drink in HS. I wasn’t boring.
Didn’t drink for 5 years in the military either. Too busy actually doing shit.
Drank too much at Med school, thus why I got into combat sports.

And now I’m double retired, so I can do whatever the fuck I want.

But I’m glad you & your circle jerk buddies drank Zima’s in HS while I was off fingering your girlfriends…

Other than Nebraska, Notre Dame has a much stronger commitment to its football program and winning than the above. Also, I'd argue that Notre Dame easily has the most allure to recruits and prospects than the above. Some of those are elite academic schools as well (Stanford, Duke, Vanderbilt, UVA, Northwestern, BC...) meaning, Joe 5 Star isn't automatically waltzing in and clearing admissions.

I get it that ND has its challenges (location, weather, female population, South Bend, in-state talent, or lack thereof, academic hurdles, Catholic-centric institution, etc.), but it has as a lot of unique advantages that 9/10 of college football programs don't have and can't provide. Kids want to play there...no one is swatting Alabama, Georgia, Texas, USC, Florida, etc. caps off the table to pick up an Illinois, Purdue, or Vanderbilt cap.

No doubt it has its advantages but if a kid isn’t truly dialed into ND they’re in for a rough freshman year. Imagine if there was a transfer portal in the years leading up to 2012. Do Manti, Nix & Tuitt stick it out after their freshman season? Odds are no IMO

Been….30-31 years since I had one. From what I remember it was always a malt liquor based wine cooler. I’d say it was a lime based drink but not in the sweet verity like coolers.

I get that. When I went there this year, I specifically noted it was very different from other universities. Excluding the service academies, military schools (VMI, The Citadel, and A&M, I guess), and a few other small, liberal arts schools that I’m familiar with (Hampden Sydney, University of the South - Sewanee) I found ND to be very unique. You almost had to be entirely entrenched, bought in, active, and involved. I can see where alienating yourself from the students, organizations, activities, and such would be a recipe for disaster.

Yeah, if you go to Notre Dame expecting it to be culturally the same as your Home State U, you may well have a hard time.
If you embrace Notre Dame for what it is? You will find people who will be your people for the rest of your life.
