“Accountability” means acknowledging that Chansi is part of the reason that the WRs group is not very good. Merriwhether has met expectations? I guess I just disagree. The freshmen looked good early, in camp and the first few games, but have not done much since — Rico and Greathouse have become less assertive over time. Thomas and Colzie haven’t developed, at all. I’m just repeating myself at this point, so happy to agree to disagree. Though I do agree on Tyree. But, the fact that we play a lax bro is a sure sign that the WR room is not progressing and not really a sign that CS is working some magic.What does "accountability" mean? If you gave Brian Hartline or any NFL WR coach this group who is getting more production and how? Almost every single guy he recruited + the converted RB he has coached up has met or exceeded expectations. Including a true freshman lax bro walk-on whose primary position was QB in HS.

I think they need to bring in 1-2 WR's from the portal with 1 of them being a grad transfer.My only problem with the WR core this year is someone stepping up as a leader, you can't coach leadership.
OhioIrish must've forgotten about the situation that Del put us in.
We've had injuries at the WR position this year, but 2 true freshman in Flores and Greathouse have been a nice surprise.
I would like to see our OC Parker use Merriweather more than a deep threat most of the time.
Stucky has done a really good job with the WR's.
We have another good group of WR's coming in the 24 class, I like that Stuckey is willing to play freshman.I think they need to bring in 1-2 WR's from the portal with 1 of them being a grad transfer.
Who's leaving? IF Tyree comes back along with everyone else and the incoming Frosh, I don't see a need for another WR, especially a one-and-done!I think they need to bring in 1-2 WR's from the portal with 1 of them being a grad transfer.
I wouldn't be surprised if 2 WR's on the roster transferred. Can't remember if it was the II or ISD folks who said it, but on a recent podcast it was said they would like to see 2 WR's as well.Who's leaving? Improvement, that’s it. I am simply pointing out that, generally speaking, the WRs do not appear to be getting better on an individual basis under Stuckey. For the most part, they appear to be stagnating or regressing for the past couple seasons. There are likely multiple reasons, and it is reasonable to assume that Stuckey is one of those reasons.I’m curious what your expectations were coming into the season.
Is it an odd time? I try not to be a prisoner of the moment, but if I were, I’m not sure I’d lean on 11 catches for 200 yards. Pitt had 12 catches for about 150, should they feel reassured by that output today? For the season, the WR core has been mostly unimpressive. I understand injuries, but Colzie, Thomas, Styles, and Merriwhether have been unimpressive for multiple seasons even when healthy —and all were very highly rated. I’m not saying “fire Stuckey”, I think we should keep him another season, I’m just think that MF should be looking around.WR corp had 11 catches on 15 targets for more than 200 yards against Pitt.
Odd time to be coming after Stuckey especially with the injuries this year.
Show us your numbers and back up your statements. And please list number of games missed for each player so we can make a healthy comparison. Did Tyree improve? Did the contributions of freshman WRs improve? How is Faison looking as a Fr walk-on, albeit in limited capacity?Improvement, that’s it. I watch football and make observations, that’s all that is required of a fan. Have fun with your stats and assessments, I’ll be over here with the people who get laid.Show us your numbers and back up your statements. How has the WR blocking been? Once you provide your numbers/assessments, we can have a serious discussion. Otherwise, i just see a bunch of whinging.
Lazy people look at things in a vacuum, let's do the work so we don't appear lazy.

I think that is a fair assessment, though I tend to view both Thomas and Colzie as being unproductive prior to injury — Thomas has shown a bit more, though. Outside of Tyree, I just don’t see year over year improvement. Again, agree to disagree. I’m not saying Stuckey should go, I just think we can do better. Who knows, I could be singing a completely different tune next season.Alright let’s break this down.
Tyree = clearly better on a weekly basis and since the spring
Thomas = was playing at very high level relative to where he was pre-Stuckey and then got hurt
Colzie = hurt
Salerno = hurt
Merriweather = unproductive
So that’s all of the returning players. Two were making big leaps, one hasn’t. Two others have missed pretty much the whole season with injury.
Then the new guys he brought him have mostly been great for freshmen. Some of the most productive freshman WRs (especially pre-injury for Greathouse) that ND has ever had.
Bottom line is that he inherited a thin and under-talented group and then had all of his upperclassmen get hurt besides the guy he converted from RB.
Please share how you’ve come to know this…Lads who talk about getting laid don't usually get laid all that much.

This is a good point, WRs have struggled getting releases all year.My biggest knock against them is they don’t seam to win enough battles off the line when I watch them. I am not sure why that is? They aren’t slow, do they not have the strength? Not sure. His recruiting has earned him another season in my book. If next year is no better then cut him loose.
My biggest gripe would be expectations. Those expectations likely led to us not going after a portal WR even when there was a ton of speculation that we should/would.“Our top seven guys can play anywhere,” Stuckey said. “Our second group can probably push for starting time at another place and that's what you want to create, that lifeline of multiple, multiple guys coming in year-in, year-out that are competitive that can play and that deserve playing time.

I honestly thought that you’d have something more clever to say in response. But, very on brand for you to bring up your stats — we got it, you’ve been laid 3 times and don’t try anymore. Let’s move back to football, yes?Oh, I thought you wanted to have a serious discussion. Enjoy your casual fan hottakes.
Also, I'm married with three kids, I ain't worried about "getting laid". That joke hits harder with people who are still unattached, lonely or seeking a mate. You sound like a winner though so keep at it, I'm sure one of the ladies will want to stick around after bedtime.
We got a portal WR - he was Va. Tech's leading receiver last year - and he decided in the spring that he didn't want to play football anymore. We also lost Styles post-spring. Yes maybe we could have gotten another but by then the good ones are mostly taken.Here is a Stuckey quote from August Camp.

Does it look like we have 7 guys that can play anywhere? IMO, it does not.
Also, my expectations on Merriweather were one part recruited talent and one part Stuckey who call him a star, day 1 draft pick.
When the coach sets those expectations, who's fault is it when the guys don't live up to them?
I love Coach Stuck but maybe we either need to actually hit these targets or not talk about them as confidently as he does. Because it very well could be impacting roster management decisions.
I’ve noticed they are very late a lot off the snap, like they don’t know what count we are going onMy biggest knock against them is they don’t seem to win enough battles off the line when I watch them. Well, our passing game efficiency numbers were off the chart the first 4 weeks now they’re average at best, I mean, that clearly shows wrs aren’t playing as good now as they were first 4 gamesShow us your numbers and back up your statements.
