Never said he was Brock Bowers. Noone is. Just stating that he's not 6'6 like most TEs
When the discussion came up that he was 6'3, you said so was Brock Bowers. That is a comparison.

What a bizarre interaction.
Putup said that Larsen was small for a tight end and lacked size. Solll was just responding Brock Bowers was the same height. There was no direct comp as athletes outside of the height comparison

Yes, I am aware. Which is the whole point of my post. When you make a height comparison, it's completely irrelevant to the discussion without factoring in the other attributes.

In fact, the follow up post of Merriweather to Randy Moss does not actually do what I think you think it does. It proves that making comparisons just based on height is silly. All they have in common is their height. Cool, so do millions of other humans.

I stated he lacked size AND really good athleticism.

I don't know, larsen has some cool film and makes some really good plays you don't see HS TEs make often, but he really doesn't look very tall/long out there. They run some really cool route concepts(need a good bit of time) to scheme him open (i know right, what a concept, scheming a player open).

I would recruit over him if you can in 24, but we may strike out. We'll probably land 2 very high potential TEs in 2025 class.

When a commit generates this much commentary he's either a 5 star or an 87 overall rating on 247 with a Wisconsin offer. There is no inbetween, lol.

I think he’s like drew pyne in the sense he got a ton of good offers real early, didn’t turn into what most thought, and no big boys are trying to flip him now due to that

To me he is Cane Berrong. Tremble is similar size but that dude was nasty blocking and a better athlete. Larsen has talent, but I don’t think he will ever be the featured tight end for the Irish

Agree, yet when they report height like 5’ 10 3/4” or 6’ 4 1/2” people tend to make a bigger deal out of it than it is.

Yep....... I tend to try and look at how somebody plays. For example, Tobias is tall and long but plays short, meaning he hasn't shown ability to go get the ball or high point the ball or use his length, vs like a golden tate who was short but played way bigger than his size due to his ability to go high point the ball and snatch it.

Confused (as usual) by the discussion. I see offers from Alabama, Clemson, Michigan, Texas, FSU, and Ohio State. These must be fictional? I also see a rating at some time as a top 150 player. Did all those evaluators get this wrong? Is IE comment really that much smarter? What's going on with this guy?

Hia tape looks like low to solid 4* stuff. Who knows what he turns into. But go watch his tape and then Carter Nelsons. It's not close as far as athleticism.

OK, I guess. Does this fellow have to be a TE in college? If his hands are Mayer-good and his route running excellent, can he not be a big possession receiver? Just musing ... something(s) had to attract those scouts.

I don't personally think we can afford more slow WRs. It's our entire outfit right now for those who are playing.

folks in here talking about him not having elite athleticism for the TE position and we have another calling for him to be a WR?

IE, I swear.
Opinions are like…..

I know my opinion a few times has turned out to be brutally wrong. That’s the fun of it, being confident enough to state what you see and what you believe will happen or why something happens .

Us humans will continue to look like idiots from time to time. Some more than others

I've said it before I can see a lot of him at h back in a similar style to tremble. Can he be that type of blocker in don't know but that's the role I see for him

its literally the only role for him considering his size and thats the whole issue. Which isn't really much you could take a 6'6" guy who can inline block, play H back, Fullback and Split out to the slot if needed.

Agreed. I think he's a guy that could carve out a nice role on the roster.
