It would be a cool job to have (although probably not getting to watch the football much) and you would have to blab to a friend or two.

I went from having no understanding of how to judge this situation (check my early posts) to being hoovered up into the attention vortex of every update (as evidenced by my repeated updates tonight). I need to cut back for sanity and productivity, but I think this story is now clearly a big deal, arguably even more than some (but not all) of the recruiting shenaigans of the pre-NIL Era. With recruiting, at least you preserved the integrity of seasonal matchups and the internal competitiveness of games. If ever there was a case where vacating wins makes sense, it is here. You actually cannot trust what your eyes saw now.

Vacate the last 2+ seasons of wins and hit Harbaugh with a significant show-cause order. I think that's the minimum of what you're looking at for penalties.
What does that mean for this year? Of course everyone involved will say they have to sort through all the evidence and blah blah blah. Anyone with three brain cells knows it helped them win games this year so should they be given a playoff spot assuming they run the table?

I will puke if they somehow use this as a catalyst to make a run this year.

My sense is that the Big 10 would have to intervene to take measures this year. I can't imagine the NCAA moving that fast. But the NCAA is supposedly visiting Ann Arbor on Thursday.

No chance. The only thing I could see is if the evidence becomes overwhelming and the committee just tells them to fuck off.

I don't think it's ''no chance'' the B10 intervenes. This isn't the SEC covering its institutions for internal recruiting violations or a fake class. You have 10-12 B10 teams already cooperating in the investigation. People are mad, and coaches and ADs likely feel that their livelihoods have been threatened by this type of cheating. This is a unique situation.

Finebaum, Coach Prime and Deion Sanders all coming to the defense of Michigan. Odd.

Agree. The B1G is smaller and able to move more quickly than the NCAA.

Finebaum is full of crap. If this were OSU we'd be seeing the same reaction. Probably so with PSU as well. Someone also needs to tell Sanders that it's a lot easier to stop the play if you know what's coming.

Kirby Smart has never heard of such a thing.

“Yeah, I never heard of anybody going to the games to watch and film and do all that — all the stuff that’s going on that everybody’s talking about,” Smart said. “I don’t know anybody that’s ever done that. I’ve never been asked to do that as a young coach or known anybody to do that. I’ve never heard of that.

Yeah, if anything "you still have to stop it" says a lot about Sanders' (lack of) ability as an Xs and Os coach.

I wonder what Finebaum's talking tracks would be if it was Notre Dame. Just a guess but I bet they would be very different
I don't know that he's one to have sung Harbaugh's praises in the past. I was rather surprised at his take on the situation

Finebaum is a awesome. He says things early in the year, fans panic, then it comes true and their team goes 9-3 and they never revisit it. Rinse and repeat each year.

What??? An natural pessimistic criticizing an oppostist for hating everything?
What have I been pessimistic about? You're here hating on a broadcaster (and you can't explain why), spent yesterday downvoting everything.

I'm not sure what I've been pessimistic about. But yeah, I enjoy Finebaum in the small moments I hear him.

I hope the Chicago Bears stay away here. I think the price tag is enough but man the baggage this guy had BEFORE this was bad.

I just get the feeling that if he wants to escape to the NFL, some billionaire owner is going to be waiting for him with open arms to give him the out.
