This is probably the worst comparison I've seen all night.
You have nice guys Bob and Ty with D backgrounda sitting there for the picking... and you go the jerk OC with a obnoxious ego lol

No, it’s perfect, actually. With these expectations. It’s perfect

Congratulations to Louisville completely outplayed us. Nice of them to go vanilla at the end and enable us to save a little face.
Not sure where they recruited all that defensive talent, but they owned our Oline.
I’m guessing that RB will be playing on Sunday too.
I’d say Parker has sabotaged this season at critical points of key games, but it has also been a team effort. See a lot of defenders that don’t like contact and see a lot of penalties where Notre Dame beats Notre Dame. Don’t think Hartman has looked very good since before OSU.
Definitely think this schedule has been brutal and a lot of that has been our own doing, making things harder than they should have been. Never thought I’d say this, but might need to join a conference.

Was with you up until that last point. We are basically already in a conference with our ACC tie in.

But the timing is out of ND’s hands. Conference members have more control. Many teams have had to play 8 straight games w/o a bye but not vs the talent that ND has had to face. Then you factor in travel whether it be cross country or trans-Atlantic

Enough has been said about Parker. Worst OC we’ve ever had.
D quit after the lauifu dumb shit penalty.
Sam Hartman needs to use his feet and not allow himself to be squeezed into a sack. He needs to roll out like most mobile QBs. He better get some shampoo commercials quick because he isn’t getting an NFL paycheck. He didn’t play with heart tonight as evidenced when he returned to being a sliding QB and putting us into 3rd and short which we can’t convert. He need to keep the ball in the read option and take some hits to open up the offense.

Who is #80 who converts the two best pass plays for us and then goes back to the bench?

I know Estime has been very good but in games like this and last week he isn’t. He doesn’t hit the hole with speed like Love or Price. He will be back next year.

Alt will be the only early departure and that might be a late first round selection and dropping.

Bertrand and Kiser looked reliable out there. Only guys beyond the lineman who can actually wrap up and tackle. Morrison is great in coverage but tackles like he thinks he Deion Sanders.

Everyone seems to be brained washed that year in and year out ND has a dominant Oline. Well not this year. Alt is good and that is it. Evans is borderline great and should get more targets.

Freeman was a popular feel good hire and his first game was a portends of things to come.

At least our kicker played well. We didn’t make any big plays but they did make a few stupid penalties when it mattered the most. Shame on Marist and Fisher whose penalties weren’t important to the play but just lazy in their part.

Freeman should let his players know second and third string personnel will be inserted on D for missed tackles.

The team looked soft tired and poorly coached tonight. The D played pretty week after the first drive thanks to Hartmans jump ball to an unproven WR (Flores). Sam wasn’t smart tonight. Offense looks worse than a Ty offense.
Coan > Hartman.

We can beat USC if Parker can get his head out of his ass and run and run again.

WHAT WENT INTO THE DECISION TO ROTATE PLAYERS AT GUARD & CENTER?
“We had made that decision throughout the week. Again, we have to be better at the guard position and that was something that was evident last game. We said we're going to roll some guys at the guard position, we've got to do a better job of protecting our quarterback. We'll have to go and watch the film and see how each guard did, but we didn't protect the quarterback the way we needed to.”

I felt a bit demoralized after the OSU game because the coaching staff lost that game. They weren't better at Duke, but got lucky because Elko failed harder at the end and let Hartman and Estime play hero. UL didn't let the staff off the hook.

There's not much to add about which coaches are failing and how, but this group is not it. ND would be lucky to finish with 9 wins this year, but I don't see that happening.

As we sit here, I don't believe Freeman is going to work out. I also understand that he will get more time and some new staff. He has 1 more year to unfuck himself or he has to go.

I think I’m going to be one of those “taking a break from football” guys this week. This game was depressing because it was a reflection of the program’s institutional shortfalls (depth, play calling, scheduling). Not a ton can be done about those in-season. I don’t need to waste time thinking about the matchups when we are not even giving ourselves a chance to compete.
My 11 year old daughter came downstairs right after Sam threw the interception on the first drive and asked if I was going to watch the blackhawks preseason game. Told her absolutely, so we watched it instead. As much as I hate to admit....it felt good not being on an emotional roller-coaster for 3 hours. When the hockey game was over, I went upstairs and went to bed carefree and not pissed off. I think I'll watch alot more hockey this year since I get NBC sports chicago on YouTube TV now

Hard to blame freeman when the admin wouldnt
Pay for the OC he wanted. What else could he do!?!

When the OC is calling stupid shit he can over ride it and chooses his friendship instead.

The OC has nothing to do with this team being overall not disciplined.

Should be mandatory reading, lol. So much failure it’s hard to comprehend.

Good write-up from Jaime U. He said just about everything we’re saying. I’m willing to give MF the benefit of the doubt with his in-game decisions. It’s clear why you don’t hire a first time HC but we’re here so as long as he learns from them, ok.

What’s really going to sink him, is if he doubles down on GP. I would prefer he move on now to send a statement and shock the team into waking up. Make Gino (or DMC) the interim OC and finish out the season. In the offseason, with support from the new AD, conduct a legitimate search.

He needs to step up more and be less of a “players coach”.

Taking a step back for a bit. There’s no point in investing all this time and energy supporting anything just to have it make me feel the way it does. I still believe firmly in Marcus the coach but don’t believe he’ll do what it takes at OC. See y’all after they somehow beat USC

Exam week. It’ll be interesting to see who shows up Saturday night. We got our asses whipped in the trenches. Tyree drop, Marist face mask, daggers. The lack of discipline is really concerning. Oh well, see everyone on Saturday.

This, there is no fire from the team or staff, there is no accountability for terrible
Mistakes. They keep happening every game by a lot of the same players. Parker needs to be moved to te coach now, and Gino OC. No clue if that will work but Parker can’t work

Dj brown can’t physically do his job, move on

Blake fisher played with no effort, don’t start him vs usc to send a message

Marist makes a huge mistake every game, Kiser or sneed should start to send a message

Faison is our best wr, he’s starting

Freeman has an analyst next to him in games to explain how stupid he is and why so and so is a bad decision and talk him out of it

Rudolph has to decide who he’s rolling with and oline play must improve or he’s gone season end

At least One wr must show drastic improvement or Stuckey is gone

Washington needs to start recruiting better or he’s gone

Quit wasting snaps on Payne

My unemotional, numb thoughts.
- Independence sucks. The reffing disadvantage sucks, the schedule sucks, not being able to play for a conference title and into the playoffs on years like this suck. The revenue loss sucks, playing Stanford sucks - everything sucks about it.

- Scary how loaded our offense is besides WR and we not have 3 straight weeks of pants shitting. BYE week is when you make a move that sends a lasting message amd gives you hope if you're Freeman. No part of me thinks he has that in him but I hope I'm wrong.

- I've been hard on JD and the LBs as a whole but JD played his balls off and earned my respect.

- BenMo really buys into his hype and doesn't seem to want to get his hands dirty for the team. His missed tackles are just lazy.

- The WR cabinent is so bare. It's going to take another year but ND has enough tools where a competent OC still has plenty to work with.

- Been saying it for weeks now. More Love, less Estime.

- Think of the safety misses over the years. From Nwaka (Iowa 5 star) to Peyton Bowen, to the guy who ended at Michigan and others I'm missing. We have such poor safety talent besides a freaking converted WR.

- I love MF but it's all on him now. You can't please everyone and be friends on your way to a title (or simply a long career). You gave Pork Chop a chance he never deserved and he didn't deliver. You don't owe him another moment with the clipboard.

- You have a stud recruiter (DMC) who's over qualified for his current role and likely leaves. At least give him an interim shot. If it works out it's a home run. If it doesn't, it cools the jets on him getting other OC jobs and leaving all the same. And it gets Parker out and shows your serious. And you have a QB coach which is a big deal. This is a solvable problem right now.

I am glad you do. This team looks lost and has no direction. That starts from the top up

The play calling is atrocious. Estime hasn’t down much against the tougher opponents we need to give more snaps to Love. Everytime love touches the ball it seems like he’s picking up 6-7 yards. Where are the screens, jet sweeps, we haven’t even done much for trick plays. Seems like we wait till crunch time to throw to Evans? How about throw to him to begin with he seems like the only one not dropping balls. Players are at fault too. Fisher and Marist with stupid penalties that cost us at least 11 points. Chris Tyree with a dropped ball right in his hands, defense played their asses off first half you can’t blame them really when they were gassed

If the staff doesn’t have them prepared this week, they never will. Marcus can’t keep saying “it’s on the coaches” without any improvement.

They need to act like they’re coaching for their jobs at this point, because the SC game is going to be the biggest watershed moment for MF in his tenure.

Even crazier when you consider how many drives they had in total. Offense just shit the bed and screwed over the defense which was very solid for 80% of the game.
