Bad take defending someone who literally signs up for the board dozens of times just to bash recruits and coaches. What makes them sad is that they continue to try to sign up after being banned and post the same shit over and over and over.

But maybe not really a surprising take by you.
Even idiots can be right occasionally….

The gang up crew is in full power this am… “anyone that speaks ill of the king most have their head chopped off”

This board has great intel at times, but does a horrible job of talking about football, evaluating film themselves vs copying and pasting a writers take, and has more blinders on than any other board.

I enjoy the banter but would love to find the posters who enjoy actually discussing football, and why someone does or doesn’t like a player or coach or scheme or recruit, etc. I’ll keep trying to find it

No just defending Torpedo against the backlash he got.

Everyone does not deserve to be on the cover on SI but Martha Stewart does, talk about a smokeshow.

My issue isn't saying a coach is doing a bad job with recruiting but when you are doing what torpedo is doing and calling out a specific high school kid that is committed to your program trash, thats wrong. Of course we all want 4 and 5 star talent. But if you are a 3 star recruit you are most likely still the most gifted guy in your school. No everyone is not beautiful, My argument was just if you are an ugly ass mother Fer you should not be criticizing the very minor faults in a beautiful model. These kids arent trash and they are committed to our program, the moment they commit they should have our support and if you aren't happy about them attack the coaches not the high school kids by name.
Partially agree…. I think assessing their skills good and bad should be absolutely fair game. Yes these are all good athletes in some regard but it’s the comparison to championship caliber we all want and where honest assessment even negative happens.

I think everyone wants every recruit to be great that signs, but if I think a player isn’t good enough before they commit I’m not changing just because they committed.

Do you think NIL has hamstrung Freeman?

Can you imagine BK and his lame recruiting ways trying to battle NIL at ND?
I think nil hurts freeman and he has to win big and show development. I think Kelly would have a similar ranked class as freeman but different. Not as good of skill but better lines.

Freeman isn’t winning vs nil right now. 2023 needs to be a monster season and show young player development. He can’t really show much player development so far in his 2 years. Lb play has been worse each year. Dline too. Corner is trending

Huh? I’m just supporting a poster that got blasted for stating one of our recruits isn’t great. We’ve had a lot of misses over the years, it’s more ridiculous to claim otherwise.

If people are going to attack a poster when they say a recruit isn’t very good and I agree, I’ll show support. Not enough of that here, too many bandwagon blinder homers that must be told all of their children are beautiful when that’s not true.
"Getting blasted for stating one of our recruits isn't great" is one way to look at that I guess. Probably got blasted for the multiple profanity laced rants in several threads attacking coaches, recruits and posters personally, on top of blatantly circumventing his many bans.

Nothing… I think both are awesome recruits and very very few I would trade for them if any.

As I’ve stated, we have some really good recruits, but not enough. I like about 14 of our 19 recruits, a few head scratchers

Georgia and bama are getting about 5 a year. Don’t expect that, but we need to hit on a few more studs each class. Top 50 players.
You're not wrong. Looking at 247's Top 50 we have one commit (Carr, with Cam Williams just outside at #53). Still an outside shot at Scott and Nelson. Sounds like Rushing's not happening. There's only a handful of others we were ever in the mix for. While Georgia, Bama, OSU are going to land several apiece. If we hope to close the gap on those teams we need more of those kids to choose Notre Dame.

So yes, it's disappointing. And it's not the elite, gap closing recruiting that was promised when Freeman was hired. Agreed. But it's also no reason to endlessly shit on the guys we are getting. They did choose Notre Dame. They are also good football players, some of whom may be more successful than many of those Top 50 kids. They'll be on our team for years to come. They deserve our support.

You do realize there is over 6 months still left in the recruiting cycle and unlike you who appears to have already given up and continue to bitch and moan Freeman will continue to contact kids and new names will pop up and they will find more talent. If it was February and the class was full your comments would be worth something but you have been bitching about this recruiting class for months and again the cycle isn’t even half way done and just like every other year at least one big name will pop up that isn’t on the board yet. You bitching for 9 months about something you don’t even know about does nothing for anyone. Nobody is saying Freeman is above reproach but we are saying let’s see how the class finishes up before we tar and feather him. Let’s see how many of these 3 stars are actually under appreciated talent. Maybe not shit on kids that are committed to Our Lady’s university. I would think that’s all reasonable.

Do you agree on the Martha Stewart part. Can we agree moving forward to not saying that dime doesn't deserve to be a the cover.

Assessing players before and after they commit is fine

Calling our commits "trash" and "don't deserve to play on a power five team" isnt
Saying someone doesn’t deserve or “I don’t think he’s good enough to make an impact on a power 5 team” is different.

Example, I think Clarence Lewis is one of the worst corners getting major time on a good team or even top 25-50 team but hey he’s on ND and playing so I won’t say he doesn’t deserve it.

I think the 6 months is my issue, why are we reaching so much so early on recruits unless he’s concerned we can’t or won’t get anyone better.

Moving past the diehard troll, Hobbs is one of those guys I can't figure out why he's rated so low. Him and Moore.

Granted, I don't think it's as egregious as Cole Mullins, but Hobbs is long, has fluid hips, has good speed and pops on contact.

There's some guys in this class where I can see why they're rated as low as they are like Rezac (needs to add considerable weight) and Urlacher (Big enough for LB? Quick enough for safety?).

Hobbs and Moore...I got nothing. Both are solid top 250 guys. I'd still absolutely take a Kaleb Beasley, because I think he is also insanely underrated and a borderline 5-star caliber player.

Let's just be honest. The recruiting services have blown chunks this year. Their rankings are all over the place and it's f*cking with the composite. I can't take the composite seriously when On3 is dropping the ball constantly with their analysis and rankings.

When you have guys like Beasley and Tae Johnson not even in the top 100, there's going to be a lot of skepticism.

Most NFL fans know the team they root for and the league’s stars. I truly doubt 75% know who Kyren is today but hopefully by the end of the season they will.
Kyren is 96% owned in ESPN Fantasy leagues. I guess it just depends on what you consider a fan. If my wife—who can name three current Colts players—is considered a fan, then sure, the original premise is probably correct.

Moeller - should be an easy flip unless OSU comes in. Will never understand why 3 star kids commit before their junior year when they could potentially blow up.
I would think if a blue blood tells you to jump, you ask how high

I think they are on On3. Maybe you should post there. 🙂
