Exactly how it should be.

Also, this is why I found Mike Frank’s rant on the last Power Hour hilarious. He got on the topic of the pay cuts coming to the guys buried on the depth chart and his exaggerated interpretation was none of these guys are able to get their ND degrees anymore.

Mike - they’re taking a pay cut, not getting kicked out of school. Millions of college athletes have attended college with only scholarships for the last century (myself included). They can still get their degree if they really wanted to, they just aren’t getting paid like a 4-star recruit to be third string as a junior.
Yeah man, some of the ND analysts have been really bad recently when explaining the scholarship / rev share / NIL interaction.

I heard the Mike Frank comments you're referencing and I had the same thoughts. Nobody is taking away the full ride, access to meals, etc... However, with limited funds available due to the rev share cap, they simply won't be getting much / any extra money, unless somebody wants to support that player with an NIL agreement.

Bryan Driskell was also recently confused about the difference between university generated income that can be distributed in the form of rev share (up to the cap) and NIL, which is essentially unlimited in nature and is the product of third party agreements with individual players, governed by the Clearing House. To Driskell's credit, at least he admitted that he was unsure about how the two streams interacted, but he was definitely confused.

To be fair, a lot of this stuff is complicated, opaque and evolving pretty fast. And none of these guys seem exactly like great business minds.

Both programs are dumpster fires and about what I’d expect if he was going to stick in the P4. He ain’t playing games that matter there.

Yep. Less about the academics, more about "Do you have a heartbeat? Sign right here."

Man feel awful for him. Hope he has a speedy recovery. Still think he can be a late round draft pick.

Confused ... no real production + ACL = draft pick? I guess you're just being a nice guy, which is a good thing.

He will absolutely not get drafted in the next one. I would put massive amounts of money on that. He has literally done nothing that warrants getting drafted or even picked up by a NFL team as a free agent. His only option is to heal up and attempt to come back next year and ball out.
