FWIW Oregon-Colorado recorded 10.03 million viewers on ABC... in a blowout.
Yes and without Deion that same game does maybe 1MM viewers...mostly Oregon fans not going to the game....

Man Deion should make himself a celebrity premium and find away to charge all of CFB for him presence.....

Has anyone asked him why he replaced the gold whistle with the gold cross around his neck? The man has style...LOL

I watched so I could see Colorado bitch slapped. But if ND was on at that time I would have never turned it on.

It’s just like Finebaum coming out with his usually stupid statement about ND on Sunday……essentially saying that ND’s arrogance (his word) for not joining a conference will again cause them to miss the playoff. And I think you meant smegma 🤣

I'm not sure if "arrogance" is appropriate, but the rest of the statement is fairly accurate - and I'm no fan of his. It simply doesn't help ND's resume while they are sitting at home all the while the top 2 teams from the Pac 12, SEC, ACC, Big 12, and Big Ten are playing an additional game against each other (usually against a top 25 matchup - some a top 10 matchup).

Agreed…..I was more focused on his using arrogance as the culprit.

Finebaum’s show must be the most idiotic load of garbage in sports. I’ve tried watching it a few times and can’t get past the format and callers. Everyone seems to want their 15 minutes of fame by being more outlandish than the last caller.

Got a summary?

Didn’t like the the 3-19 play and the positions they put some players in.

Brought up possible red flags with the kicking game and the holder.

Don’t think they have much faith in the WR’s

Want so see more Burnham possibly since Botelho isn’t producing much.

They don’t see a problem with Washington. Rubio, Cross, Burnham and other have played well.

Against Duke they think we’ll see a lot of 12 personnel.

They think playing on the road will be better for the team.

Sadly, OSU has the bigger brand and total following. It’s not like they were slobbering over CMU Chippewas…
OSU is neither a bigger brand nor do they have a bigger following. Notre Dame is a big deal even when they are no good. Ohio State is a nobody when they arent good.

Ohio State has a big brand. But they aren't Notre Dame. Frankly, no one really has anything similar to ND. State schools inherently have regional brands. OSU's base is largely Ohio natives and people who dont like Michigan. That's a good chunk of people. But it's not and never will be Notre Dame.

Its like comparing the Eagles to the Cowboys or something.

When was the last time Ohio State wasn’t good, for any sustained period of time?

They do, pretty consistently, pull some of the highest TV ratings in the sport. Higher than us and it’s not that close.

But I’d agree their fan base seems mostly local to Ohio and maybe nearby states. Even compared to Michigan they’re pretty regional - I live in Boston and see a lot of people around wearing Michigan gear, rarely Buckeyes - and they’re certainly not as national as we are.

Sincere question, why do you think we have less leverage now then two years ago. I thought we had more leverage now so I was just wondering your thoughts on why you think it went down?
From my perspective, it would seem that ND's greatest value to the Big Ten was bringing a national audience and fanbase to add market value to their broadcasting deal. Obviously there are other benefits, but it seems like that has been the main factor for most decisions regarding adding teams to the conference. Expanding the footprint.

With the addition of the PAC-12 teams, they are expanding the footprint without ND. Obviously adding ND will do that even more, but from my perspective, I think we've lost some leverage because of that expanded footprint.

The additional dollars that ND can bring to the table becomes a little more diluted as the broadcasting deal increases with the addition of the other teams.

I hate to agree with the Drunken fool, but Ohio State has a huge national fanbase, not just Ohio-based. Idk if it's Ohio transplants that have seeded themselves across the country, or if the Buckeyes gathered national bandwagon fans at one time or another... but they have a legit national following, not just a midwestern one.

I even recall seeing an article with graphic support a year or two back that Ohio State is close behind ND in INTERNATIONAL college football support. I'll see if I can dig it up.

There are about one million ohio natives living in Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas alone. Then you have all the people that have moved to Texas. At one point the most out of state moves from Ohio were to South Carolina, Oregon and Vermont.

There are Ohioans everywhere now.

Yeah, having lived in the South for the last decade there is no shortage of OSU fans there. Between undergrad and grad programs they graduate from 13K to 16K per year. That's a lot of people and they don't all stay in the Midwest.

Hit and hustle bring a hot show today!
I usually like that podcast but I thought that this last one was not very good. They seemed to lose themselves in discussion by deviating from the topic at hand. It seemed incoherent today.

Is ISD worth the subscription? I enjoy Hit & Hustle and ISD Power Hour but have no clue how the quality of their premium info is.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the content when I’ve subscribed. It’s not that they do bad work, I just thought a lot of their free offerings were great compared to what you were paying for.

To make sure we have more than 10 players on the field, we’re going to use 12 from now on.
