See? I disagree with this. It doesn't feel anything like the other crushing losses.

I never saw em coming. Miami? Boy I thought we'd shit kick em. Marshall? Stanford? All the other what the hell soul crushing loss in the past 15 years? Never saw them coming.

Be honest with yourself... you saw every playoff appearance coming. You saw Clemson II coming. You saw every game we were moderate to big dogs as losses.

I have real hope for this one. I care way too much about this shit. It's really dumb how much a college team consumes me.

This one will hurt bad if they get boat raced.
The only times I've ever felt dumb for being excited leading up to a big ND game were the 2018 CFP game and the ACCCG. I really believed in that 2018 team, and in 2020 I didn't necessarily expect a win but I expected another game where ND showed up at the very least.

2017 Miami for me. I thought they were trash and ND would dominate.

Irish 31-24! Irish score with 5 minutes to go to take the lead. Morrison bats away a game tying touchdown as time expires.

That game was a disaster for sure but I kinda figured that Wimbush's passing would lose us a game eventually..... certainly wasn't expecting to lose 43-8 after about 7 weeks of truly dominant football though.

First road game i ever attended. Had the weekend of my life, sat down at hard rock, realized I couldn’t hear myself think over the blasting ASAP Mob track and immediately thought “oh boy we’re in trouble”

We kept it closer than Bammer did in 2018…

Felt good about this game... but then I see too much hope / optimism which means its time for a kick in the nuts. OSU by 7.

I want this game to be like Clemson last year. Beat them to death and have their women driven before you....

Something interesting I've seen with the game bet props is DraftKings has the largest lead of the game set at 16.5. It was 14.5 earlier in the week. Everyone believes it'll be a close game through out but someone seems to think that one team is going to build a lead at some point in the game. ND wins or osu wins by a FG. Gonna be incredible or heartbreaking...and of course, I wouldn't have it any other way

I love Audric but he's not hitting the hole fast enough for elite shit.

I love Sam but I'm worried our interior OL is suspect...

I love our D but the Line might not be enough to make this something we can push around.

I'm worried. I've had nightmares.

Everyone should feel worried about losing this game, because we do 4 out of 5 tries.
Tonight just happens to be the 1.

Usually when we win one of these big games it’s “ND doesn’t stand a chance” and then we just play physical, get some chunk plays, and get some turnovers and ride that to a W.

I still remember being a 2 TD dog to Oklahoma in 2012 and just manhandling them at the LOS for 4 quarters.

But this game there are wayyyyy too many people taking the line of ND “should” win. Which I feel like is a mistake and people forget that last year Ohio State was a blown call away from beating Georgia. No CJ Stroud, etc. but their O and D have some dogs on them. In particular, I think we will find it difficult to run on their front 7.

ND’s run game worries me too. I don’t want to see Estime tap dancing in the backfield like the start of the NcSt game. Got tripped up before he got going. Hoping the backs are aggressive and the young speedsters can get a few big gains.

That was the old ND. The one that had to be the underdogs. This is MFs ND, one that expects to win and dominate. We haven't this attitude and QB advantage for a long time. Believe.

42-20 Irish ☘️

I'm throwing caution to the wind. I think the Irish show up and show out, and Ohio State shows who they can be at times which is wildly inconsistent and underperformers. I'll take a 1 point win, but I'm looking for the Irish to show up in a big way on the national stage today.

Go Irish ☘️☘️☘️!

I hear you on this. I think a lot of it goes back to the fanbase having been burned so many times over the past 30 years. Now we see we have a legit QB and a strong secondary, and most everything else looks solid. So, we have hope of finally being a top 3 team again.

I was at that Oklahoma game and I tell you what, that was an intimidating atmosphere for a visiting team. And ND showed up and played to our potential.

I actually do see parallels to that game with this one. Even though I do think Ohio State is a better opponent than OU was, I also think we are a better team than that 2012 squad.

Not to mention, the Buckeyes aren't necessarily known for their D, though they are off to a solid start this year. It's always been their O to carry them. If their O falters they lose games they never should.

I think we show up in 2012 OU game fashion and Ohio State shows who they can be at times, underperformers. Just hoping for a win

That’s fair. ND fans usually go into these games thinking “just compete & don’t get embarrassed” but most of the fans have moved past that with confidence in a win. OSU is the more talented roster but that doesn’t always predict the winner as we all know.

Unless something crazy happens, ND shouldn’t get embarrassed. If they do then get ready for the “ND is always overrated” refrain b/c that will, once again; be the perception. We can counter w/ truth in that ND outperforms their pre-season ranking in most cases but this will ramp up the recency bias if ND pisses down their legs.

Is it me or does GameDay seem quiet? It’s like the talking heads are used to talking over the noise but the silence in the background has seemed to give them pause like they’re not used to hearing themselves. TBF, I haven’t watched GameDay this season so maybe they do something now to drown out the noise.
