Nice! Really respect how he handled his recruitment. But then again, it would make it much less interesting if every recruit did the same thing. Welcome, Mr. Lambert! I think you're going to do great things!

Glad to have him officially on board! Some thoughts on Guerby:

-This was never really in doubt according to people I know who are close to his HS program.
-He's an outstanding young man and will be a great representative for Notre Dame on and off the field.
-He's by no means a finish product since he's relatively new to football, but his ceiling is about as high as it gets.
-He currently plays RT but he can definitely play LT as he has the size and athleticism. My guess is he winds up at LT at ND, and he has played some snaps at LT the last few years.
-Although I believe he was always headed to ND, this is a recruitment where it didn't hurt that other elite academic institutions (Stanford, NW, etc.) are down. If we were battling the Stanford of 8-10 years ago where they were a top 10 program it could've been a more interesting recruitment as they would've been able to sell a top-tier program with elite academics.
-You hear a lot of recruits talk about the importance of academics and then don't necessarily back that up with the school they choose. Guerby is a young man who genuinely cares about academics. If there were 5 more young men like Guerby who were top 50 recruits in this class we'd probably get all of them.

Stacking elite talent. Love this tackle duo. If Knapp ends up being a tackle as well, ND has champagne probs.

Well done to Freeman to take what's considered a weak overall OL class and get the four guys that they did.

Welcome, Guerby!

Who saw this coming…

I’m confused now.
Are we okay now that he is a public commit, who committed a long time ago, but hasn’t signed yet?
Or are we still not considering him part of the class, despite him being in it (as far as ND was concerned) weeks ago?
Where is drunk when we need him?

Like I said a so-called silent commit comes public. So?? It doesn’t mean a thing. A verbal does mean something as a player has publicly stated they will part of the class. Most verbals do sign NLIs.

A silent commit is still about as useful as a dancing gif… all such rubbish. The verbal matters and that is good.

This has been a great 48 hours for recruiting. Kudos to Rudolph for a great first OL class. Is this. what Driskell was talking about when he said they weren't done yet? Or is there more?

you'd hope more as most people have stated Lambert has been a silent for some time

Maybe it was planned for him to go public this week to create some recruiting momentum this weekend. But, I agree, I’m always looking for more.
