Scenario: Ferentz finally retires and the Iowa job opens. Kleinman leaves KSU to Iowa. Klein gets promoted to KSU HC.

If this scenario plays out while Klein is OC at KSU, no big deal. If it plays out while he's OC at Notre Dame, knowing what I know of how a lot of people on this board handle coaching turnover, I'd rather none of us endure that type of situation. This just feels like a guy who is going to be loyal and true to alma mater dear. He's waiting around for that job to open up.

Big season for Klein. It'll be his second as OC and Will Howard's fourth in the program. It'll be worth keeping an eye on for sure, but I must admit there are a handful of other guys I'd look at first.

I was a HUGE Rees basher, but right now I can't say for sure Parker is better. So far he has done great against tomato cans, this is the first real test.

I mean... man... There's plenty to like about that breakdown. How Greraldo has kinda literally been as balanced as you can possibly be against terrible opponents. That's awesome, sincerely. It shows he's working out what everyone is good at or needs work at.

Rees dealt Parker a Royal Flush, it would take an idiot to screw this up. He's got a complete offense to work with, no big discernable holes plus depth and one of the most experienced offenses in college football this year.
What did Long deal to Rees? Kyren Williams, Michael Mayer, and Jarrett Patterson. That was the extent of the talent that panned out in 2 whole classes.

i dont think Rees dealt Parker a royal flush as much as the recruiting and development of the Stuckey and Deland is paying dividends and they brought in a borderline elite college QB. I dont really see Rees fingerprints all over this current situation.

You're right, he only recruited basically every starter and has been playing a lot of them since they were freshmen and sophomores because of the holes Long left. Oh, and Parker is mostly running Rees' offense with a few wrinkles of his own.
But yeah, there's no Rees fingerprints in the current situation.
Not downplaying Stuckey and Deland's contributions, WRs have looked much better since Stuckey took over, and RBs haven't missed a beat.
