LOL... I was trying to pick my words carefully to avoid this type of response.

It really doesnt have anything to do with race. He could be a white kid from Mississippi too for all that matters. He was talking about how the only things there are to do in his town is to hunt and fish and that he doesnt like to do either so all he does in his free time is play basketball in the church.

There is a reason there arent many kids from rural Mississippi at Notre Dame.

Wow, that sounds like trouble.

Just out of curiosity does he wear 47 for a reason? Just seems like an odd number for a QB (pun intended)

We need a coach that can change that imo. Charlie Weis wasn’t a good coach, but he changed the game for ND recruiting. Lots of kids we would not normally get (not from south per se) and they are now ND legends. There was a time where we landed the top overall player and QB in the country and got Mike Floyd, Manti Te’o, Sam Young, Golden Tate, Stephon Tuitt, etc. also a lot of other could’ve beens like Crist. Now we can’t even land a 5 star player let alone get the #1 overall QB.

Recruiting has come along way since some of those players were here. Not just NIL either. Teams are everywhere are getting more tv so some teams get more exposure than ever before.

Just not a fan of this guy, it’s like he has ants in his pants in the pocket. It’s nice that he can run and throw pretty well on the run but he just reminds me a lot of Buchner and I was never a fan of him either. Zero calm.

The Brian Kelly QB recruiting strategy!

BK's recruiting strategy was 100% what we did in '23:
  1. Aim for a stud that likes ND but obviously isn't coming AND wants to take his time with the process;
  2. Slow play the 4-star QB who likes ND, but understands the game and isn't willing to wait and potentially miss a good spot at another school;
  3. Whiff on both;
  4. Try to get in late on a kid you should have been recruiting the whole time;
  5. Get lucky some years, sign plan C others

I disagree. BK never had to deal with NIL, we would have had at least three of DM, Keeley, PB, Mpenba, and Carnell Tate if it wasn't for upfront payments. The strategy changed alot because of NIL. You really can't compare the eras
