I like his tape. Off platform and no look throws he’s making are cool. He seems to have a solid arm for a sophomore. Some pretty deep throws in there. Stout runner with good balance, not fast but doesn’t go down easily. He runs kind of like a running back. His tape reminds me a slight bit of Julian Sayin, just a bigger body and not as polished yet obviously.

Deuce was on the Inside ND Sports podcast with Tyler James.

When people say that a kid sounds like they belong at ND... Deuce kind of didnt.

I dont mean to be judgmental or negative about the kid and I'm sure he is a good kid. He definitely sounds like he is from the South though and ND doesnt usually land kids like that.

We need a coach that can change that imo. Charlie Weis wasn’t a good coach, but he changed the game for ND recruiting. Lots of kids we would not normally get (not from south per se) and they are now ND legends. There was a time where we landed the top overall player and QB in the country and got Mike Floyd, Manti Te’o, Sam Young, Golden Tate, Stephon Tuitt, etc. also a lot of other could’ve beens like Crist. Now we can’t even land a 5 star player let alone get the #1 overall QB.

LOL... I was trying to pick my words carefully to avoid this type of response.

It really doesnt have anything to do with race. He could be a white kid from Mississippi too for all that matters. He was talking about how the only things there are to do in his town is to hunt and fish and that he doesnt like to do either so all he does in his free time is play basketball in the church.

There is a reason there arent many kids from rural Mississippi at Notre Dame.

So he’s a red neck but doesn’t like to hunt and fish?

So it sounds like the things he doesn’t do at home won’t be available for him to not do in South Bend?

He can’t play basketball in the church at Notre Dame?

Heck, I'd lean into it; instead of telling the rural kids about Chicago just west - just take 'em a hour south - there's the rural of home - and you can play basketball outside in the summer without melting; problem solved.
