The environment is definitely having some “issues”.

Seeing images of Lahaina burned to the ground is pretty terrible.

Too bad everyone was poo pooing on what Al Gore was saying 20 years ago and Obama and the Democrats shit the bed on advancing climate related issues when they had the power to do so.

The GOP is basically a doomsday cult at this point when it come to climate issues.

Makes you wonder what impact this will have on planet Earth?
It seems like it’s one of those “silver bullet” solutions that almost never works and has the potential to go horribly wrong.

The only cult I know is looking at every instance of bad weather and blaming Republicans. It’s amazing.

The problem with Al Gore is whoever is feeding him climate predictions has been wrong more often than not. In 2009 he said there was a 75% chance that the northern polar ice caps would be completely ice free in the next 5-7 years. In 2006 he predicted that the sea level would rise by 20 feet in the near future. Since '93 the sea has risen 3.8 inches, so at that rate it would take over 1,000+ years for it to hit 20 feet. Gore said in 2006 that if global carbon emissions didn't drastically decrease by 2016 we'd be at a point of no return, and we've gone up from 30 billion tons to 37 in that time. I'm sure there's plenty more. Doesn't really help his credibility.

GOP doomsday cult

LMAO. I have no words.
You’re right. All those great ideas they’ve been floating lately to address what is an existential threat to the entire human population.

Maybe you’re aware of something I’m not?

Yeah. Here’s his actual quote:

“Some of the models suggest to Dr [Wieslav] Maslowski that there is a 75% chance that the entire north polar ice cap during some of the summer months could be completely ice-free within the next five to seven years.”

Not sure if you intentionally decided to misquote that or not. It does undermine your credibility though.

Here’s the article from Reuters.

 I'm so sorry, I forgot to say summer months! Boy, that really changes everything, doesn't it? Oof. Last I checked we haven't gotten close to the ice cap completely melting in summer. It's safe to say by now that the models were off. Scientists are still trying to figure out why the Antarctic ice extent has grown over the last 40 years despite global warming, even as the Arctic has retreated.

Have you considered following the money? Before Judith Curry was ostracized by climate alarmists she was a climate scientist and professor at GT. She published a paper in 2005 on hurricane numbers increasing and linked them to climate change. As it turned out she had bad data, and when it was pointed out to her she redid the numbers, realized her error and reversed position. By then the damage was done. Other climate scientists took this as a way to increase funding, and they latched onto the "alarmist" career path to publish favorable data that supported their cause, while ignoring the rest, so they could get funding from policy makers. When the UN e-mails got hacked in the 2010s it was found that data was withheld that showed climate change isn't the crisis alarmists were making it out to be.

Here's a bit about Curry from 10 years ago. There's so many uncertainties with climate change there can't be a consensus on the issue, especially given what we know about failed predictions and efforts by the IPCC to cherry pick data favorable to their mandate and avoid the rest.

Everyone wants a safe environment. What we really don’t know, is how much climate change is due to mankind and how much is simply due to Planet Earth making its own adjustments?

Blaming the GOP is stupid. Some of the changes we’ve seen aren’t due to recent developments. They’ve come over decades and if I recall, like the GOP there we some Democrat Presidents in the WH during this time.

I think we can all agree this is how assholes like this should be dealt with every time.

Every. Single. Time. You give these idiots an inch they take a mile. It's funny that the more they hinder traffic from getting to their destinations, the worse it is for the climate. There's also the fact that they're impeding people that could be dealing with serious situations, whether it's medical or otherwise.

They don't care about the environment. They just want attention.

Can't see the video any more - is this the reservation police or the ones chaining themselves to some trailer? We need Good Samaritan laws to protect good ole boys who hook up their log chains and drag this shit 2 miles into the bush with their 4x4.

People should be allowed to ram highway blockers. They put people in danger and too many instances of mobs assaulting people on the highways. Hit them. Nobody will miss them.

To be clear- I don’t care what the cause is. I don’t care if I 100% agree with them. Ram them.

Went down a rabbit hole on Exxon Mobile and it reminded me of this point. Would be totalllyyyyyyy insane to call the GOP a doomsday cult don't mind the fact they kept Sexy Rexy in the circle. Exxon knew before most that shit was going down but somehow there's a climate cult.

Climate cult are the terrorists. You don’t see the doomsday cult sticking themselves to art and blocking traffic or wanting to ban farming and gas stoves. Keep tossing money at renewable donors a China to feel better though.

They’re too busy ransacking the capital to try to overturn elections I would imagine.

This is the most frog in the boiling pot shit ever.

You're more mad at some hippies blocking traffic, than literally a encyclopedia of corrupt shit that O&G companies have done to ensure that climate change continues.

And yes I'm well aware it's a both sides thing.

BANNING FARMING! LOL WHO WANTS TO BAN FARMING

Yep I've never been more convinced that there's no turning back on climate change than reading that. And seeing that people agree with it LOL

Climate cult is actually a mental disorder

The crazy climate folks who bought out farmland in Europe (Dutch) won’t stop there and it’ll be nitrogen emission focused to hurt farming. It was a huge protest against climate driven policy.

It’s just a legal ban on gas stoves! It’s just a legal ban on gas lawn-mowers! It’s just a legal restriction on gas cars!
It’s a climate cult.

The insanity at the border is drowning out the insanity in energy policy. TikTokers are guiding policy...
