Why do people think Clemson is a sure loss? What scares you on their team other than Dabo being very hungry and better coaches than last year. Plus probably night game

There’s only a handful of starters I’m trading for with Clemson.

We can lose the game no doubt, but penciling it in.

Did you not watch TCU’s offense last year?

Look what Riley has to work with. That offense will be back running very efficiently.

Similar to last season, I view 8-4 as unacceptable for the talent on the roster. That result would fall on coaching, development, preparation, etc.

I also think it’s very unlikely to happen.
I agree 8-4 is unacceptable, too many doubters. For all the people ripping on Golden (including myself) & the defense, you have to think that year 2 should show improvement.

The defense in my opinion is the biggest concern. The D Line scares the absolute daylights out of me.

TCU had a better, much more experienced and tougher than nails QB. In fact they had pretty good talent across the board on O.

The kid at Clemson who replaced DJ is gonna have to make a huge leap to play as well as Duggan did last year.

Anyhow, ND kicked Clemsons ass with one of the worst QB’s I’ve ever seen start for ND. If ND gets good play from the guards and one of the young tight ends steps up this is going to be the most complete ND O in 30 plus years. Should be a good game.

So the betting over/under is 8.5? Let me hammer that over all day.
So that means we lose to all 3 of the teams ranked ahead of us and one more. Nine seems a lot more reasonable. If your betting we get upset once it would be reasonable that that bet would also include pulling one upset.
So yeah, take the over at least until it moves to nine.

It will never happen but from a pure entertainment value it would be awesome if ND was in the SEC.

Watch it happen. Would be an incredible villain move for the program, which we need. We could go 9-3 in the SEC every year no problem - the middle of the conference is not strong - and reap incredible recruiting benefits.

Has it been confirmed that ND will still get at least 1 or 2 primetime slots on NBC per year, or has the Big 10 Saturday Nights thing cut us out?

Can’t speak for future years, but this year Ohio state and usc are both night games on nbc. Notre Dame sells. I would imagine you’ll get at least one nbc night game a year

Thanks, good to know. Would be nice if we got NBCs best college football talent for those games since they're actually starting to invest in some. Blackledge isn't some amazing talent but he's a long time pro, and maybe there's a pigeon or something hanging out in the stadium that they can capture to do play-by-play.

Singer is using the mental health card to shut down any discussion about CJ Carr's ranking.
If true then he should quit or On3 should make him take a break for a while, as the strain of observing the athletic exploits of teens is too much for him without getting the vapors (again) . But it's not true and he's being a drama queen (again).

Mental health is a serious thing, unless you’re a massive dork who is bad at your job (Singer) and defending the other guy who is worse at his job (Power) is impacting your mental health.

More than half is an excuse. There are people that have true and serious mental health issues. But most only find these “mental health issues” when the get in trouble and make a mistake and don’t want to own up to it.

the most deranged folks are the ones who speak up about their mental health struggles and then go on twitter etc and start bullying other people lol

We might lose our night games to the NBC/Big Ten deal? That would suck. (Though to be fair maybe ND vs. Stanford is not a prime time game of the week at this point).

I assume any primo Big Ten game would be a night game regardless, but you would think that us playing Clemson or Florida State, or some big SEC opponent (which often happens early, and before the Big Ten season begins in earnest) would outdraw most Big Ten matchups nationally.

Locked On Irish had a screwy discussion about remaining Independent and taking the bigger money from Under Armour....and all the benefits of not being in a conference. With the understanding that ND will actually make materially less staying away from joining B10 or ACC with their contracts going up substantially then ND will take UA's big money to offset that disparity.

I do believe ND could join any of the conferences so why not join the best with the best recruiting areas and take Nike and ditch UA? Recruits want to be in conference play. They think UA is stupid. If ND is the best then they should join the best conference. Instead, ND might make less money, stay independent which is not a plus in recruiting and keep UA to fund this. ND needs to stop playing small-ball. Bust a big time move and go SEC... Keeping UA and staying independent is so uncool but very Notre Dame. Won't help recruiting.

How many recruits have you discussed this with?

I made a comment about ND needing a satellite school in Nashville some time ago when there was talk of realignment. I’ll admit part of my reasoning was that Nashville is a much more happening place than SB, better visibility in the south for recruiting, and the off chance ND ends up joining a conference, they’d be centrally located. My biggest reason is that I’m only about two hours from Nashville, 😂.

On another note, you made mention of ND joining the SEC a few days back. Ironically, a couple days later they were talking about ND on the Finebaum show (a rarity, Paul was not there). They were talking about ND being the biggest school remaining regarding ND joining the SEC, which would be a big slap in the face to the B1G, and ACC.

I was in Nashville yesterday. I was in meetings with a top attorney for country music artists. Never been there. Cool but Broadway was way cheesy and touristy. City is booming. Dozens of construction cranes.
