BC is certainly a good school (and one of the few in P5 that takes academics seriously as we do). But I'm curious about these surveys...

It impresses me how Lambert is handling his recruitment. If we only had more high profile recruits that handled their situation like Lambert's.

When it comes down to it I think this will be a ND, BC battle.

Um lets see if he commits first! Then I think he will have handled his recruitment well!!

This looks like a semi-fare listing of universities: https://www.usnews.com/best-colleges/rankings/national-universities

ND is Top 20, BC is like Top 40. I am always surprised to see Rice University ranked so high but I guess its a great research university.

Which surveys were these? The survey for kids who can't read good and wanna do other stuff good too?

But seriously, provide links. I'm sure there are some unique majors that they come out on top but I'd love to see the data.

Are you high?
No I’m not high. In the Forbes 2022 ranking of US Colleges, ND is slightly better at 36 versus 42. My point is still valid in that BC is a very highly ranked school. ND had risen in the rankings over the last several years.

I didn’t have time to look at others but I know others show BC slightly better. In any case, ND is not significantly better. So if he chooses BC it’s not a terrible educational choice.

I know a dude who is a priest at Boston college and he says all/heaps the priests there go to south bend for ND home games.

BC is a very good school and one that actually cares about academics for its student athletes too. It would not be a terrible educational choice at all.

But I’ve never seen BC higher rated than Notre Dame in much of anything, which is what you said in post 241.

We don’t lose recruits to them very often but the ones we have - AJ Dillion, Luke Kuechly - turned out to be annoyingly good football players.
We didn't recruit Kuechly even though he wanted to come to ND we wanted Dan Fox instead, Dillon was lightly recruited at another position.

You didn't have time to look at others but you saw they were ahead in other surveys? Surveys aren't even highly technical data, just a smattering of stats used however people want them. Surely you can find these sources.

And Forbes 2022 ranking of US Colleges means jackshit. I really hope students at the top 20 universities in the US don't pick a college based on a magazine's rankings, ha ha. I thought you meant there were some serious journals/publications ranking schools & programs.

You meant something else.

But since I want to be charitable: I found a dude on a blog who thought Notre Dame was waaaaay better than BC so....

Believe me I am no fan of BC. I relish every loss they have. I do believe NDv is a superior school, but I know tons of kids who have gone to ND and BC and the kids are interchangeable. Many of these top tier academic kids apply to BC and ND. I’m talking about kids going to Loyola Academy, one of the best Catholic schools in Illinois.

To me this is better proof than the rankings, but in other rankings, ND and BC are still both up there.
