It’s about respect for the young man’s thread. All I stated was to take it to another thread, but I know you like to prioritize your opinions over other considerations... you know, for championships.
"Respect for the young man's thread?". Are you serious? It's now officially a celebration thread since he committed? What are other considerations?

So take discussion on a commit to another thread, not his thread? Should we talk about him on the CJ Carr thread since it's all happy thoughts there?

I'm really confused on where or when it's appropriate to talk about someone's assessment of a recruit, commit, player on our team, opposing player?

Kiser was not a 4 star on any site when he was offered by ND at camp. Hell even after committing he didn't get a great film room eval from our own reporters. My point is that some people thought he couldn't play at the level required and then were proved wrong. In person evaluations from college and even high school coaches means something.

Quotes about Kiser so you don't have to look them up on here:

Look what you made me do. You made me quote Koon.

And to your final points, like I said, you can be concerned with "how did we get to this point on our safety board?" but the kid has gotten a thumbs up from our staff and from heralded high school coaches. I will take their evaluations on his abilities over anyone on this board.

Geez, you are quite the sunshine pumper. He got a thumbs up from the ND staff after missing out on almost every other safety. And he got a thumbs up from heralded high school coaches but zero from any university coach worth a penny. Ok, now I get it. ND just got a commit from a future 1st round NFL pick. Kudos to the coaching staff! We need a ton more of these kinds of recruits to compete for a national title!

And for your info, here is Kiser's ranking as a recruit: Jack Kiser, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Linebacker

Yeah, I’m serious. I didn’t say you had to celebrate his commitment. However, there are general ND recruitment/program threads where your criticisms would have greater longevity. Otherwise, you’re just doing what you do worst, which is bitching in a singular recruits thread ala Torpedo.
Can you please point out a thread where we can express our disappointment with this particular commitment?

Dante Moore or Peyton Bowen threads. That's where hayak's boobas, recipes, and general miserableness tend to reside.
I find it idiotic to express an opinion on one player's recruitment on another player's thread, but if you say so, pisser, you must surely be right. Now, piss off and stick it where the sun don't shine.

I find it idiotic to shit on a kid who’s still in high school in which no one truly knows how he is going to turn out.

you seem stable and really dumb at understanding sarcasm. Shits gone downhill since the Nordiques left, huh?
I'm usually pretty good at catching sarcasm but I missed this one. Sowwwy.
Go Nordiques! Take care, pisser, but piss off anyway ✌️😀👍(french Canadian sarcasm)

I never ever diss on a recruit. I and everyone else on this board respect the guy. I express disappointment in the football caliber of a recruit offered by Notre Dame. Is that hard to comprehend?

Considering we have already had a whole week to discuss Bennie-Powell, from his offer, to announcement date, and now his commitment, I think many of us are just exhausted by the same posts outlining how he may not be a great pickup.
Oh Canada!

Only freeman and maybe oleary and may golden have a clue what is going on with safety recruiting.

We talk about speed and athleticism and we're getting bigger and slower safeties. Honestly it's like we're recruiting undersized lbs to try and play safety (at least so far in this class).
Agreed!, its the craziest thing ive seen in recruiting Notre Dame Safety recruiting has been a mystery for the last 12 years, they landed two 5* in Hamilton and Redfield, about 3-4 4* and two of them became LBs in Heath and Tranquill and then an abundance of 3* players at the position. Yet they still keep going after slow of foot players who are undersized and have LB skills against the run and lack good coverage instincts or skills. We shouldn't have problems landing a 6'-6'2 185lb 4* guy who runs sub 4.50 in just about every class at this postion.

I'm happy for TBP too. ISD clip or not, I don't have the competence to assess his capabilities either, and neither do 99% of people on this board. That's why I refer to the rankings and the offer lists.

As for Kiser, he was a consensus 4 star and ranked way higher than TBP. The comparison doesn't hold up.

I have no idea what you are talking about when you mention in person evaluation from ND coaches and other successful coaches. What other successful coaches evaluated TBP and thought highly of him? I don't see any when looking at his offer list. And how high was he on the ND board (which ND coaches established)?

And he is recruited to be a safety, so that's why people aren't enamoured with this offer, which is directly related to the safety board.

You can laugh at anyone you want, but in the end, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to conclude that his commitment is not what fans are looking for in recruiting at Notre Dame.

Good on you if you are satisfied with it.
I don't understand why ND cant seem to recruit DBs with the same desire and emphasis that they do OL and TE. That alone would change the dynamic of this team and make us contenders but instead they seem to look for scraps at Safety and think they can throw anybody at the position. Seems to cost us every year

I don't know if it's just not a great safety class or ND really just didn't get a lot of good looks from the top guys, because since Woodyard said no, I haven't been super high on any of the prominent names. McClain is probably the next closest where I liked him as a full-fledged safety.

Seems like all the recent names are either raw athletic projects (TBP, Ziglar and Miles) or high floor/low ceiling safeties (Mencke, McClain).

Then there's Gallegos, which who knows what happened, because several teams have backed off on him, and Andrews going on his mission took him out of the running.

Seems like it's slim pickings for everybody after the top 6-7 safeties, and pretty much all of them are staying south. Hell, Georgia may end up with half of them with 2 already on board.

Unfortunately, going after high athlete projects like TBP and Tae Johnson may be the move this year. I just don't see any established safeties with any interest in ND, or any school outside of the south for that matter.

I’m not going to bother because it seems your reading comprehension is poor or you’re just another troll.

I've been pretty out of the loop on recruiting the past couple of years as I've spent well over a year underway since 2021 and man.... and after reading this thread I'm glad I am no longer too plugged in to recruiting lol.
It's the self induced coma many of us want but do not deserve.

Some cb recruits could probably shift to safety. Not too worried about it.
Well thats the problem we need to start recruiting Safeties that can ACTUALLY play Safety instead of undersized LBs masquerading at S or continuously switching over CBs who weren't quite quick enough for the position.

Agreed! I mean last I checked Notre Dame should be recruiting ELITE players at an elite level. It's worrisome when they recruit like Indiana Hoosiers.
