How is that possible?

Someone who is there, told one of the sites that Carr was easily one of the top 5 QBs on Day 1.

Also, where did you see the day 1 rankings? They usually don’t come out until the next morning in the past?
They used to have their initial ranking based off of film review more than anything. That’s how Buchner debuted at 2 despite a mediocre first day.

Edit: I believe that’s 247’s independent rankings.

Steve Wiltfong posted it on twitter, rankings via Andrew Ivins but at bottom of report said Wiltfong, Huffman, Biggins, Angulo, Petagna and Elliot of 247 all contributed to the report.

That’s 247 report.
Elite 11 doesn’t come out until this morning.

247 had Grunkmeyer (or whatever his name is) at 11th, and On3 has him at 1st.

Just shows you how different they are.

One more note;

Day 1 isn’t really a competition day & not Carr’s strength day.
Today is the day Carr should shine.

It's day 1 of 3. If Carr continues to underwhelm yeah it's a problem. I don't think that he will.

Is he really underwhelming? Have not read that if so.

At worst he is middle of the pack according to a bunch of triple chinned, biased, unathletic, pencil pushers who don't know their ass holes from a cactus plant.

He didn’t underwhelm.

I’m not going to post the quotes, but a group of (independent) scouts there said Carr was “easily top 5 QB” there yesterday. Said Davis had a weird release, angle & weak arm.

Ranking sites put Davis above Carr of course because that’s what they do.

IMO, based on past results, you can't treat the Elite 11 as if it is some reliable refining of the rankings based on a closer look at the best QBs by the best coaches and scouts. Just like the regular rankings, they vastly overrate some and vastly underrate some.

And they start off with the best prospects for the year, so in years when a, say, Tua Tagovailoa (instead of a Blake Barnett) wins it, that does not prove that the scouts are great. Tua went into the competition as a 5-star for obvious reasons, and came out a 5-star for the same obvious reasons.

I would really only trust the rankings insofar as they tell you about the player's objective attributes or really needs to work on, e.g., "Jim Bob is a big kid with a very strong arm but is not particularly accurate on deep balls compared with similarly ranked QBs from the class."

I agree with this, but you know what we would all be saying if he was ranked 1st.

I do think this is a great high level evaluation tool of a player next to the other top players at the same position in his class. For example, it was clear buchner had a terrible performance, bad throwing motion, and a shocking moment for me on why someone would change his throwing for to this. In my mind, i thought he either needed to improve his throwing motion or he might not be who i thought he would be.

I take more out of this if they look bad, than if they look good. When this was attached to the opening, it was much better

Anyone know what skills were tested last night and which will be tested today? Sounds like he’s who we thought he was. Really good with arguably the best leadership traits. Rivals even mentioned those outgoing personality traits.

Luckily he gets points for spelling his name correctly. Lucky for us, it's six letters total. Hopefully he doesn't screw up the periods.
