I went 11-2. I'm not even going to post much about my reasoning for offense because I think it is going to be elite in every facet assuming Hartman stays healthy.

For defense, there are two key areas that are almost guaranteed to improve- redzone efficiency and turnover luck. ND had some terrible turnover luck last year, especially in the first half. The redzone efficiency was terrible, but I trust Golden and Freeman to turn that around. The biggest question to me is can they find a reliable pass rush. If they can check that box, the defense should at minimum match last year's overall production which was good enough.

I believe they genuinely go 2-1 in their big 3 games, but are likely to drop 1 to Louisville, NC State, or Duke. So my prediction of 11-2 is either 10-2 with a NY6 Bowl Win, or 11-1 with a playoff loss.

11-2. They win one of the Clemson, OSU, or USC games. Are competitive in the other two.

If they do not make the playoff, they win a NY6 bowl game. If they somehow make the playoff at 10-2 regular season, then maybe it ends 10-3.

This is going to be a fun season. This team is setup for success.

Hartman alone should get us to 9 wins since he's so steady + we will out talent the remainder of the schedule. I think we can go 1-2 vs Clemson, OSU, and USC. All of them have flaws and Hartman will keep us in every game.

If we are counting bowl, I will go 10-3.
I think they are closer to 9-4 than 11-2 though.
ND should win 9 games alone just showing up & playing B level football, but the Stanford home game last season had scarred me.
Freeman needs to show me this season that won’t happen again.

I went 10-3 just due to the inclusion of the bowl game (i.e., the 13th game). I do not think that Notre Dame will go 0-3 in the Ohio State, USC, @ Clemson.

However, Gerad Parker is largely an unknown and we truthfully don't know what to expect. Lastly, one of the following games concerns me: @ NC State, @ Duke, @ Louisville.

ETA: I think Notre Dame will be highly competitive though in their losses, if any.

Losing one WTF game is a popular prediction. And it may be on the low side. There’s some tricky road matchups and bad sequences and the open date is poorly placed (too late). I went with 10-3 but think 9-4 is more likely than 11-2

I'm factoring in one "WTF" loss in my prediction. I don't think it'll be a Marshall/Stanford type loss, though. If it happens, I think it'll be to a respectable, bowl opponent (NC State, Louisville, Pitt, Duke). Frankly, until a few games are under ND's belt, there's just so much uncertainty with the offensive play calling at this point.
