I can tell you guys this... Two industry guys from here in AZ really love where ND is and one guy is totally dialed in on the streets.

If this is as bad as IB's saying (or what we're hearing he said) then it would be only topped by the guys who flipped Pete Werner to Ohio State.

The smart money was always on the field so it's a good one to claim your sources are telling you it's over.

And I want to add... I 99% believe the program would skip over IB for controlled leaks. 247 gets them because they can trust Wiltfong/Loy to write professional puff pieces... that's good branding.

I try to like IB, but it's overload gobbledygook dressed as sourced fact... and then Singer cites it.

Is the info from AZ sources post visit? Assuming not..Driskells sources apparently are parents most of the time so guessing parents of different recruits observed his body language, etc on the visit and shared that.

Then again pretty sure ND thought they were out on Loghan Thomas before due to what they perceived as indifference during his visit so could just be his demeanor, idk.

The local recruiting news has taken a dump...I've never seen so many conflicting remarks after a visit like Rushing's. I've always enjoyed Eric Hansen's articles...too bad he doesn't report more recruiting visits.

Driskell is often full of shit but I'm thinking his reporting is better than the others here. Interviewing the recruit is rarely of value these days. They almost always say the visit went well.

Former high school sports reporter here. No student athlete ever told me anything interesting ever. At least nothing I could print.

What's really frustrating is that I can guarantee that ND will eventually decide that paying these kids is ok, but they'll decide it after about 3/4 years, once everyone else has moved on, and the next hurdle has arrived for them to waffle over for the next few cycles.

I don't think it's as cut and dry as that.

ND is clearly trying to do NIL legit. Promising big-time NIL money to high school prospects is not that.

It's very much illegal, but as usual, the rest of CFB seems to treat those rules like Barbossa treats the pirate code. They're more like guidelines. Meanwhile, ND treats them as sacred texts and goes out of their way to play by a set of rules that no other power program seems to be playing by.

It's a situation where the NCAA gave them an inch, and ND is taking that inch. Meanwhile, other programs are taking a mile.

The others are talking to actual sources and getting intel that matters.

Funny that IB talked to 4 sources, none of which were Rushing, and they all said it’s not happening.
And now others are following suit.

He has sources within the program now.
He also talks to the family of players daily.
I already knew this, but never heard him say it publicly until last week, but he is very close with a very, very important person at ND.
On a podcast about Swarbrick last week he dropped it in that he had lunch with that person recently, which was the first time he has mentioned it publicly.

Ryan Roberts is really good and I trust him. Driskell is Driskell, but is a straight shooter.
Nobody posts Rivals stuff. It sucks Kyle Kelly left there to go to On3, because it was good for Rivals to have a different perspective.

Wow this was just a terrible read by the "experts" for us to be leading going into the visit and not immediately going out of it. Sorry to me that's just bad reporting and/or bad sources.
