Something really random happened on the IB board.

Someone asked who the next two commits were & their timeline.

I’ve never, in years, have seen Driskell just publicly answer that question.

He just straight up answered, “Johnson & Miles.”

I don’t know if he meant those are the next two recruits with announcement dates set, because he would answer that, but he didn’t say that. He just straight up said Johnson & Miles were the next two commits.

Not sure I like taking both Tae and Miles. I just don't see Urlacher as a Safety and both Tae and Miles will need a lot of work at Safety. We really need someone who is a pure Safety and projects as such at the college level.

I guess I didn’t realize Notre Dame was in that good of a spot for Miles. 247 has the Irish as “warmer” on his list of offers. Time to fire up the tape.

If you read an article somewhere you are required to link it. You are not to just paraphrase the scoop. It's a board rule and common courtesy. I'm not on here 24/7 and can't be policing this shit constantly when I'm getting DMs that I check infrequently.

I really hope if Miles is in the fold we still make a push for Ziglar. Miles and Ziglar are two very different players
I completely agree but have always assumed it was a given. Is there some reporting saying that they’ll shut it down at 2?

ill be bummed if Davis isn't a part of the class. All the others are tweeners/academic questions. He's the solid guy you can rely on.

Tae cancelling Purdue OV seems to confirm he’s a true silent with the staffs standards.

Could be what kept Mencke out of the class. He wanted to commit but take visits.

This has been, essentially, confirmed.
ND isn't even try to convince him back, they let him walk after his decision.

I wouldn't have let him walk unless they know they got another guy coming for sure outside of Tae
They told Mencke the rules - he didn't care - he made his choice. They dont want to follow Bowen 2.0.

Miles, Davis and Ziglar all appear to be in great spots with staff.

The result of the conversation was that Andrews plans to take his mission trip right after his graduates from high school. He’s graduating in December, which means that he would be back in December of 2025 and would enroll at Notre Dame (or any other school he chooses, as I believe his other contenders are content with this plan as well) in January of 2026.

Maybe this has been answered but why do they have to commit now and not upon return? Couldn't he immediately enter portal as well?

I believe nothing is tying him to Notre Dame until he returns and enrolls in 2026. He could easily just show up at BYU (which he will.)

To his point, nothing really ties anyone to anywhere at this point other then some paperwork.

Which is why I find it somewhat odd they're spending so much time on him. They must be rather high on this young man because he's seemingly getting quite the treatment for a guy who's not an immediate contributor.

Agreed. Does anyone else get Chris Badger flashbacks when discussing Andrews recruitment?

I remember when Chris Badger committed. I believe he enrolled early for his freshman year and then took the mission.
Hansen did a story on him for sbt back then and if i recall correctly, the crux was how difficult it was to maintain/regain the athleticism after he returned from Ecuador. Eventually went back to Utah/ byu.
