The first play at OSU had me stoked and it was really all down hill from there.

The fact they let him speak to the media when it was said he informed the coaches before is probably the weirdest part of this, unless that is being misreported.
Really?. The first play against OSU made me realize he's not who we thought he was. Any legit #1 receiver would have taken that to the house.

It was that first play when I realized how tight he had gotten. He simply could not open it up like he had the year before or what I had expected. At the time, I assumed it was an injury, maybe tight hammy, etc. Nope.

Styles was also reportedly unhappy with Del and going to leave if we retained him. So maybe he just doesn't respond to coaching.
As I'm reading the comments, I started wondering if maybe he put it on cruise control after his freshman year?

Just saw him on campus. If I had known I would have asked him about it.

This turns up the heat on Stuckey, I imagine. Someone needs to pop this year or development questions become an issue. This group is too talented to not to produce NFL players. Styles was tremendous under Del, 12 months later is transferring as a DB? I think Stuckey is a dude, just anxious to see him actually produce.
Jayden Thomas says hello. And between Colzie, Merriweather and the freshmen there are likely several future NFL players in our WR room.

I don't see this as a bad thing. He clearly was getting passed up on offense by the younger WR's and I highly doubt he wanted to sit and ride pine for another year to waste learning a new position

Tremendous under Del?
Lo only had one great game and it was a game which del got fired after (or before?)

Stuckey is going into his second season with the program. He's got his quartet of true freshman dogs in the room now and Sam Hartman at QB. Maybe you're turning up the heat, but I don't think it will be the case with Freeman and Parker unless it ends up a total fuck fuck of a shit show.

If Jayden Thomas is your best argument, you got problems.
Stuckey has been here a year and completely rebuilt the WR room via recruiting, turned Thomas (who was not highly-touted) into a solid starter, finally got something out of Lenzy and by season's end had Colzie starting to live up to his potential. All with a noodle-armed G5-level quarterback, I'd note.
But Styles is getting passed by younger players and can't decide what position he wants to play and you're worried about Stuckey as a developer? Ok chief.

Not a single receiver on our roster played up to their potential last year. Not one. It’s ok to have expectations, partner. And recruiting ain’t development. But, keep drinking the kool-aid until we see results, nothing wrong with that.

I fully expect several of Thomas, Colzie, Merriweather and the freshmen to play in the NFL. Possibly Tyree as well. None of them are there yet, is all.
Also I think our QB play last year was a significant factor in our WRs underperforming. We couldn't get the ball to them.

does Styles SR think programs are gonna be offering his son starting berths? I can't imagine many high powered P5 teams would make that promise.
I’m sure Styles Sr. doesn’t think his son is what he’s shown to be on the field so far.

Programs will definitely offer him starting spots. The questions are whether they are places he will actually want to go and if they will actually keep their word if he isn't what they thought he was.

Rumor is he's headed to Ohio State to play DB.
To be fair, that has been the rumor since the end of the 2021 season.
Does he think he's going to walk in and start there?
The whole thing is weird.

Good luck to him. Strange career at ND.
What’s ended up with his brother?
He seemed way over rated to me. I watch a couple of his high school games as a “senior” and he was a non factor.
