On3 & the idiot Charles Powers updated their rankings.
After dominating the 7v7 circuit, Carr shot up the rankings to 193rd (sarcasm) and the 12th ranked QB.
How Powers sees 11 QBs better than Carr, I don’t know.
And after winning MVP honors at his camp, A Williams dropped in the rankings.
Larsen, Jones & Wafle not ranked at all.
But Knapp jumped in at 206.
So Carr is only 13 spots above Knapp?

Powers is the worst in the business, which is saying a lot.

Also, they dropped Cam Williams four spots, so I don’t know if that will change his 5 Star composite rating or not? That would be something, the shortest time at 5 Star, two days.

Certainly seems that way. While I wouldn't complain if they had landed them, I did think this was a somewhat likely scenario very recently.
Did you hear or see something that led you to feel that way (being a likely scenario that ND was not pursuing them any longer)? Just curious to your insight.

I will say on a personal level, if ND is in fact moving in another direction, I do feel a bit for the brother Jacob. He seemed waaaaay more about ND than Jerod did. In fact, just looking quickly at social media, Jacob posted again photos from his last ND visit a few days ago. 4 ND visit posts in the last 9 posts, compared to no other school having more than 1. His quotes to reporters always seemed more excited too.

Rumor is we passed on Jerrod Smith and Jacob Smith? What's the deal? I think this is a huge mistake.

In the Ryan Roberts /Driskell podcast today they said that they would have been surprised yesterday if ND didn’t make Smith’s top four, but in light of recent activity, ND was no longer an option for him.
ND obviously passed, but if it changed that quickly, the obvious thing is Mullins visited yesterday and got multiple pick’s immediately.

Also mentioned ND kind of stopped pushing for Loghan Thomas after his visit.

They actually were asked about Wiltfong’s comment about ND probably being the leader for Rushing, & they said they don’t think Rushing has a leader at all.
And said they are more worried about in-state Arizona because his brother just transferred there & Oregon for obvious reasons.

I don't think Umeh being unable to visit this week is indication he's slipping.

Sounds like there was logistical problems that forced him to cancel, since he couldn't get a ride. Apparently was hitching a ride with Traore, but it sounds like he's not gonna make it either. (Correction: That was why Lambert couldn't make it. However, it sounds like Umeh was also having issues getting travel arrangements. He had to cancel a PSU visit prior to this because of travel issues).

That being said, I'm also confused about the Smith talk. I've heard Jerod might be leaning towards Michigan. I have not heard that regarding Jacob. It's very possible that one prefers ND and the other prefers Michigan. Frankly, I'll gladly take that if we end up with Jacob.

Also, if ND ends up with Rushing or Jacob Smith, along with Mullins, that makes Umeh a bit less of a priority.

The twins will go to the same school that’s just common sense

Michigan insiders never really mentioned Smith until this week, after it was coming out ND was passing on him. So I don’t think it was a case of him preferring Michigan over ND. And I don’t think they go separate places. So moving on from one probably eliminated you from both?

Singer with a pick in for Prescod.

Prescod is close, and was just at ND & is already coming back this weekend, so this is something that could be imminent.
Jamie U earlier today said the evidence shows ND is in a great spot here.

I wonder with the Lambert situation being kind of at a standstill if ND decided to up the heat on Prescod & will push for the commitment and then save the 4th spot for Lambert, but lock down an OT in Prescod first.

The lack of highly ranked safeties showing interest in us is real concerning we should be taking 3/4 in this class

I know that was the general consensus, but things change. It's very possible that ND cooled on Jerod and Jerod decided to lean towards Michigan, while Jacob is still on good with ND. Them going to the same school was the plan, but like I said, plans change.

Of course, that's as of now. ND seems to be quietly gaining a ton of ground with Rushing and is in on Young, so maybe that leads to Jacob trending to Michigan.

I can't imagine Prescod means anything for Lambert. ND needs tackles this class in the worst way.

The name I'm interested in and may indicate where things stand with Lambert is Aiden Lynch. I think if ND offers him, that could indicate that ND isn't confident in where they stand with Lambert.

You are always coming back to the safeties.

Give it some time, mate. There are players on the board. A few under the radar, underrated guys that will climb in the rankings. ND may potentially have their safety class close to being filled in the next few weeks.
