San Francisco mayor torched for seeking federal assistance to curb crime crisis: 'You need us to deal with it'

San Fransisco, like a few other west coast cities, has become virtually unlivable. It's collapsing in on itself due to rampant crime, open drug use on the streets coupled with an average of 15-20 overdose deaths per week, a homeless problem that's taking over entire areas of the city with sidewalks being used as public toilets, a general breakdown in the order of society and civilization, and a lawlessness that has followed the defund the police approach of local government.

Now, faced with such overwhelming problems, the mayor, London Breed, has asked for Federal help to deal with it all before having to call in the National Guard. Yep, the same mayor who created much of the issue with her defund the police efforts and the local DA's soft on crime approach (thankfully that DA was recalled recently). So, after gutting the police department, being ridiculously soft on crime, creating the conditions for the above problems, and listening to nobody telling her this would be the result, she now writes the DOJ, "We need additional and ongoing support from the Department of Justice to arrest and prosecute drug dealers so residents, families, and workers feel safe in their neighborhoods."

As you might imagine, she's getting torched by local police leaders and national commentators for this. Of course she and SF need help. Too bad she was pandering to the radical left in creating this situation instead of being a good leader and not creating this mess in the first place. Any Federal help should come with the stipulation that she and any city council members who voted to defund the police first resign and face charges for dereliction of duty. Personally, I'd tell the residents, "You voted for this shit. Deal with it yourselves. You played your stupid games, here are your stupid prizes. Actions have consequences."

Based on cack's posts, he believes Republicans are evil and Democrats are wonderful. Wait until he learns that politicians on both sides are unsavory characters in general.
