Same crowd that downplays guys like Moore, Keely, and Bowen choosing someplace else because of NIL, or downplaying ND not wanting to pay the price for an OC’s buyout. Or any of the other “little things” that ND refuses to do to actually compete for a title. Anybody that questions ND are just “bed wetters” and need to calm down.

I am now and imagine I will continue to be curious how this turns out. We had one hit with Jaylen Elliott. This kind of prospect is a crapshoot with a hit rate below 50%. Wouldn't be as big of a deal if we actually landed folks like Bowen or Nwankpa. Hillman should be the high-ceiling athlete that we have absolutely nothing to lose by taking a flyer on. Instead we backed into a situation where, not only was he retroactively a need, but we fucking let him walk into a rival's arms. Sickening from start to finish here. And don't give me any Minich bullshit - he's mid at best.

This guy, released from his '23 NLI like Hillman, and had an ND and BC offer (LSU Safety Entering Transfer Portal) or this guy who was a transfer to Utah and who played in every game (not a starter) and was projected to start for them in '23, but has now hit the TP as a grad transfer (Utah FS Clayton Isbell will enter the transfer portal)

Just speaking for myself here..I just don’t let the decisions of a university or an 18 year old kid dictate my emotions. Will this decision have an impact? Maybe. Maybe not. Nobody knows. Im numb to recruiting these days.

I see no point in getting myself worked up over decisions I can’t control and ultimately don’t affect my life.

I’m with you. I’ve long ago lowered my expectations as it’s clear ND isn’t really interested in competing for championships. They have other priorities, which is perfectly fine as it’s their institution. I also don’t get upset when others “freak out” when the latest example of their unwillingness to compete, comes to the surface. Some guys still believe it’s possible and it hurts them more. I get it.

All that being said, if you’re on a ND football message board in March, you care a hell of a lot more than 99% of the fans.

No need to go after Minich. He’s not the source of the problem. It’s institutional. I understand and share your frustration, but what is the real solution? I think most fans, particularly on this board, are well aware of the absurd self-imposed hurdles that continually limit the potential of the program. I don’t see the point in turning this into a battle between fans. The real problem is none of us are in a position to do shit other than vent like we are in competition with each other. Until there’s a boycott or protesting, it’s all just yelling at the tv.
