Because this is America, motherfucker. We are not a white, Christian country no matter how much people like you want it to be.
Don't get mad, bro. It's not my fault you're on the wrong side of this and don't like the truth. Why do you guys get so mad and start cursing every time you find yourself on the losing side of a debate?

So, your side has always been all about encouraging undereducated, poor, single moms to have as many children as possible, even when they couldn't afford it. Now you're mad because maybe some educated, hardworking, successful people are being encouraged to have more children? Wow? Good thing you're not in charge of a farm or a factory or a business. You really don't understand what works, do you?

I retired at 44. I think I understand what works for my bank account. And I’ll curse bigots like you all I want.

My side doesn’t exist. I don’t care about Republican policies or Democratic policies. I care about making this country the best possible country that it can be. At this moment in time, your Republican Party is the party of racism and bigotry toward anyone that doesn’t look, act, or worship like they do. They have absolutely zero ideas on how to make this country better. Favoring whites or heterosexuals or Christians, etc. over others is unAmerican crap.

I’m sure you’ll dig up some Democratic policy that benefits black people so go get your shovel. Show me something that Republicans do that make this country better while you’re at it.

It would be great if those were Texas’ true intentions. Instead they included stipulations that largely benefit middle to upper class white, heterosexual, Christians.
Why are you referencing "Texas'" intentions?

Its been introduced. By a legislator.

I have zero clue where the Christian tie-in is?

LOL - how racist is it to think only white people get married, have kids and pay taxes? Totally missing on latinos probably gaining the most as a demographic - but the racist thinks they are all illegal with low paying jobs who only rent. What a clown.

I don’t know how to respond to this. I referenced Texas’ intentions because Texas is the state that introduced this legislation. It benefits Christians whose beliefs include not using birth control, having large families, etc.

That’s not what this is about and you know it, punk. It’s about Texas taking steps to slow down “the browning of America.” Look at the stats on homeownership, dipshit. Now ask why Texas would include stipulations that favor straight, white, Christians. Here’s another stat for your dumbass:

This probably disapoints you but 60% of the nation is white. These are people who identify as all white. This doesn't count white hispanics and those who are biracial who identify as white.

The second largest is Latino/Hispanic at 19%

63% of the nation is Cristian. This includes 2% Mormon who identify as christian.

The second largest is unaffiliated at 29%. This surprised me a bit. I figured maybe 20%.

Now it's true that the nation doesn't specifically state that it's a 'white Christian nation(ewwwww, right?) But im not sure how many countries officially state the color of the skin of its people or(outside of the middle east, the Vatican etc.)officially state the national religion.

Having said all this, you'll be happy to know that in the coming decades, the white population in the US will slip below 50,%. And while Caucasians will still be the largest race in the nation, it will no longer be a 'white country' that is the majority. I guess when this happens us "motherfuckers' will just shrug and continue to work, raise our kids and lives our lives while you celebrate.

States don't introduce legislation, as far as I am aware. If I am elected to North Dakota's legislature and propose a bill that will conduct a Passover killing all first born, is that North Dakota's intention? Or just a legislator's?

Regardless, you know who else tend to not use birth control? Jews, Muslims, etc. Regardless, parents (AFAIK) aren't going to come out ahead having a large family. A single person or childless marriage will save more money than a married couple with a gaggle of kids. Its a small reward or whatever for a selfless decision. Its common for the State to encourage couples to have children.

Poland
Hungary
Japan
France
Germany
Israel

I don't see an issue with a State seeking to encouraging or easing the burden of raising children, and in the case of this piece of legislation, encouraging it be done in a marital home. <---- I suspect he'd run into some constitutional issues by requiring the married couple be a man and woman, but that's another point altogether.

This probably disappoints you, but I don’t care what group people belong to. I care about people being deprived their rights because they belong to an “out” group. If Christians were being deprived their right to worship magic sky daddy, I would be upset. I think everyone should be able to worship as they please even if I think they’re idiots.

I’ll call bigots whatever I want.
I think we're all adults here and I respect your freedom of speech and everyone else's, but the endless name calling and cursing on sounds like junior high nonsense. It doesn't add anything to the discussion and makes you look...well, like you.

If you went to a therapist and told them you spent a good majority of your retirement calling strangers on the internet bigots and racists because they disagreed with your political opinions, how do you think the therapist would react?

First, I spend maybe an hour and a half a day on IE. Second, I call people bigots and racists because they make bigoted or racist statements.

I do find it humorous that members of the party of “fuck your feelings” have a problem with my language, though.

Your side is obsessed with categories and us vs them. I said I was in favor of incentivizing successful behavior and choices. You processed that through your racist, religious, sexual orientation filter and came up with all the rest. I advocated for rewarding people based on their behavior. You're the one wanting to treat people a certain way depending on their skin color, sexual tastes, or religion. Sounds like you're the bigot and racist.

I read the document. Show me where it referenced white people. You just took the word of the guy who sent the tweet because he said it was for white people. Pretty sure Texas has a healthy Hispanic population who would benefit from the tax cut. Average size of Hispanic families is 3.8 compared to 3.2 for the national average.
Minorities per the article are much less likely to be a homeowner and married than white people. Blacks specifically are the least likely to own a home and be marrried followed by Hispanics.

The home ownership part is what seems odd to me. Yes, all races own homes. My suspicion is that minority how ownership rates are less than whites. Is there a solid reason to include that requirement?
I posted an article Above that says exactly this. Whites in Texas…roughly 60% own homes. Hispanics are less by a decent amount and blacks are much lower. Add in the caveat that they must be married and those percents decrease the likely hood for Hispanics and blacks more. Add in the straight married qualifier and you are left with white straight married people being the ones overwhelmingly likely to benefit the most I can’t imagine this will hold up but it’s really about the messaging. “Get married buy a house be fruitful and multiply”
Gay or not straight married. Fuck off. No benefit for you at all.

What's the definition of a racist/bigot/white supremacist/homophobe? Anyone a liberal is losing an argument to.

You guys can't win any debate on merit. The facts and rational thinking don't work for your silly, nonsensical, hyper-emotional, goofy ideas. All you're left with is personal attacks, name calling, cursing, emotional appeals, or fearmongering. It's a poor substitute for intelligent, factual debate, but hey, it's all you got. Every time you start with the tired old calls of racist, homophobe, bigot, white supremacist, and etc., the rest of us roll our eyes and laugh at you.

Would be incredibly hard to provide "property tax relief" to non-property owners. Yes renters are paying property taxes as a portion of their rent, but I can't even fathom writing legislation to sort that mess out. I'm guessing the proposal will die pretty quickly even if it had good intentions.

Not if the GOP has anything to say about it. Their current white suffrage platform is all the rage in MAGa land. Look at all the bills they are putting forth in every state. It’s all about protecting white people now because they have so bad.

Maybe that's a big part of why they have so many economic and cultural issues. Want to succeed in life? Look at what successful people do and emulate them. Seems like the most successful people in this country, regardless of race or religion, own homes and build stable families in which to raise children. Don't ignore what works and then cry about your lack of success.

This is libertarian AF but if I'm a Texan, why do I want my schools defunded to pay for someone to have kids? If I was concerned about population numbers I would look at incentives to bringing more people into the state on work permits so they can contribute to the economy immediately rather than a 16-18 year turnaround.

Going to get harder and harder for people to buy homes with the significant increases in prices. Combine that with the fact that the younger generation seems to value the mobility of renting. Lots of Real Estate holding corporations buying up properties. There's likely to be a significant decrease in home ownership over time.

It's hard to get out of poverty in general. You have to make a lot of good choices and there isn't a large margin for error. Education would seem to be the key, but If you don't have anyone to help guide you, you either make dumb choices or you don't even try because the obstacle seems impossible to overcome.

There was nothing said about wanting it more. Your ability to stay on topic or accurately quote others is severely lacking. I've been talking about behavior, not desire. Do what works. If you do what doesn't and hasn't worked, then your failure was a choice.

Well if they aren't emulating those that have success they must not want it.

(Still waiting for a post with an ounce of statistical basis, I understand culture wars stuff is your safe space but try and expand your horizons a tad).

I’ve decided this is the last time I’m going to reply to you. IF I TYPE IN ALL CAPS, WILL IT GET THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULL?

You don’t seem to be able to process anything I say. I don’t have a side, I’m not a member of any political party and I’m certainly not a racist or bigot.

SOCIETY sees race, religion, sexual orientation, etc. OR WE WOULDN’T HAVE THE PROBLEMS THAT WE HAVE. We wouldn’t have a Republican Party that has devolved from the party of Lincoln to the party of white grievance. We wouldn’t have had American slavery and the world wouldn’t have experienced the Holocaust. We wouldn’t have countries that execute gays. I could go on and on.

If Texas were only incentivizing good behavior then I wouldn’t have an issue. That’s not what’s happening and if you can’t understand that, then maybe you’re not as smart as you think you are.

Your words and views say otherwise. When you see everything through the prism of race or sexual orientation or religion or whatever, and want people to be treated differently accordingly, no matter how much you scream "I'm not a racist or a bigot!" you still are one.
