But the weather in Michiana IS great in September & half of October when it's not raining. A sunny day between 65-70 for a game at ND is HEAVEN. That's my window to come home for games. Besides that, it's too humid / cold / rainy / mosquito / fly / tornado / pothole infested for me.

So the question is... Do you move to the SE to breath soup and dodge hurricanes, move to Phoenix / Vegas and find shade or move to San Diego and complain about nothing but the cost of living?

No thank you to the desert. I love being in SW Florida where there is boating, beaches, warm sun all year round, great fishing, seafood and freedom loving state. The long-term masking in COVID was ridiculous in Chicago. Thank god for DeSantis.

When I left Chicago it was because of the cold AND the grey weather. Everyday was fucking overcast. Cottonballs in the sky blocking the sun. Screw that.

When it gets too warm I jump in the pool. Problem solved.

My wife and I did our honeymoon in Scottsdale. We didn't wanna leave. Biggest complaint I had was the time difference, especially in football season. Perhaps when I'm older I will need to be a few hours behind so I don't have to try to stay up late.

I moved west when I was 30 and for the last 7 years this has been one of the best unintended bonuses.

Great SNF and MNF games ending by 8:30 PM, 9 the latest, and having plenty of time to get rest that night. Yes, being old and watching football does have a way to coexist!

Grew up on Ohio - moved to South Carolina in 2012 - moving back to Ohio this spring. I hate the weather down here. May through September is absolutely unbearable heat and humidity. I can’t wait to get back to having seasons and being able to enjoy June/July again.

Most of my beach friends from Stop 2 in Michigan City went south to the beaches between Tampa and Fort Myers. Unfortunately the largest group were all on Fort Myers Beach and got wiped out by Ian. Enjoy your humidity and constant threat of that shiit happening.

We've got a place in Carlsbad to enjoy whenever we want. I have a swim up bar in my backyard that were in basically everyday from Easter thru Halloween and I can leave my house right now and be on the beach in Puerto Penasco, MX in about 3.5 hrs...

And I'm going to see both the Sox and the Cubs this week and eat at Portillo's or Lou's afterwards.

I love getting up at 6am for gameday catching a 9am game that I wanna see then head to the ND Club of PHX game watch in Old Town then go to dinner or head over to ASU and tailgate for some football after dark... especially for SC, Oregon, UT or UDub.

Lot of great places out there. I just got done building my house in SE Tennessee. 11 acres on the river. Building permit, $25. No building inspections, only state electrical and septic. God’s country.

I’d love a summer home in upstate New York. Went to Letchworth state park during the summer several years back and it was absolutely gorgeous. Not hot either, that place is a gem!

Bama can, and does get miserably hot. Fortunately it’s been mild the several summers. That and the constant threat of tornadoes is an adjustment. I miss the summers in Indiana where you can appreciate a good thunderstorm.

Makes it easier when you pick up a winter hobby like ice fishing, snowmobiling, bowling etc. Wouldn’t trade the other three seasons up here for anything though.

Winters in the midwest are great once you get some proper winter hobbies. I would miss being able to ski and snowboard with my kids 10 minute drive from my house in winter and then take them to a lake in the summer and go swimming

I live in Massachusetts, which is low key the best weather place. Magnificent summers. Winters rarely get all that cold. Fall is glorious. On the ocean and close to the mountains.
Only downside is it’s dark at 4:00 in December and January. So we just start drinking earlier.

Uhhhh what? I lived just north of Boston for a year and winter was hell. It started in October and ended in May and the snow never stopped.
