Some day, God willing, a parent is going to “bump into” EJ somewhere.
Dude stalks these kids. About 3-4 years ago a HS coach, in the New Jersey area I believe, kicked him out of the weight room because he was hanging around the kids while they were trying to lift.
That's just fucking weird.

Not sure teams/coaches are checking recruiting site rankings and basing their actions off those rankings.
I don't think it's an accident that the three guys we lost to NIL this past cycle were top 20 recruits and among the top three or four players at their respective positions. There are only so many guys who are going to get the big bags.
Scott is currently 18th overall/#4 DL on 247. If he were to drop to, say, the #10 DL, he'd be the same player (and still a Top 75 recruit nationally). But there'd be nine DLs ranked ahead of him for the big NIL schools to throw money at, instead of three.

Shaun on the IB podcast this past friday or saturday said when he had a one on one conversation with Scott early last week that he asked him if he had a team already in mind or something like that and Scott told him yes but i'm guessing he didn't tell Shaun who it was or he did and Shaun just can't say

Right but again, I’d like to believe the teams/coaches know far more about these kids and their ability than the recruiting sites. That’s why they are getting the bag, not cuz 247 has them top 10.

Now sure there’s a PR angle to these sites and perhaps kids get discovered by these sites cuz schools only have so many resources.

What’s with the huge discrepancy btw On3/Rivals and 247. Do we think 247 is likely to bump him up later or that he is ranked to high by On3/Rivis?

I just love how a week ago Driskell spends a whole (4 hour) podcast roasting the shit out of Washington for DL recruiting. Now Loy is talking about taking 7 or 8 guys, including Scott who Driskell said Washington was screwing up.

Any chance Driskell makes a public apology if most of this class hits as it's looking?

Nah, he'll just say something like "At that point it was poor, and that's why Freeman/Bowden stepped in." The Driskell is always right.

Driskell would literally murder your family... In front of you, and not apologize.

These ranking drops mean zero to me. I get these sites all recalibrate for a variety of reasons, but the end is they're trying to get clicks and subscriptions in the end.

The idea that Alabama floated the prospect of Scott playing OL is really really interesting. Strong chance he's going to grow more. Something to keep an eye on going ahead.

Rivals ranking him as the 11th overall player in America for his class seems like a real reach. I think he's good but that's a stretch.

But the schools and coaches aren't bringing in the millions to pay these kids. These boosters are alumni that probably know less then the average person on here. If a kid is ranking in the 75-100 range on all the recruiting sites they aren't bringing in the same kind of money that a top 25 kid will of the same talent level would. The boosters will still put up money for the coaches but it won't be the same
Right, completely get it, which is why I said I understand the PR angle to it, which to me more directly speaks to the collectives and boosters because it's not like teams are giving out 4 or 5 star ratings.

My only point was that offers, and big recruiting pushes from staff, aren't a result of recruiting site ranking fluctuations.

Isn't Driscoll's whole beef with Al's recruiting centered around losing Jason Moore to Ohio State and the Fiske kid to Florida State? He may have also mentioned something about fighting harder to keep Keon in the class. I have no idea what you could have done to keep Keon and I thought that Moore had a past relationship with Larry Johnson.

100% lol

He’ll be like “Washington should be thanking God that he made it to junior day and gave Freeman and the other recruits a chance to do their thing.”

It's in our best interest if Scott gets the Brennan Vernon treatment from the recruiting sites.
It's in our best interest that he's like Charles Jagusah or Jeremiyah Love...or Braylon James......will he be? Won't he be? Who knows.
