Are we positive ND isn’t recruiting Javontae Jean Baptise? I believe ISD shot it down?

Reportedly visited Ole Miss this past weekend, but he’s mentioned in this piece, seemingly random.

Ole Miss reporter, after he reportedly visited Ole Miss this past weekend?

There seems to be a post on the Ole Miss On3 board? Can’t see though

In Berry's post: “after talking to folks in south bend, I expect JJB to land there.”

And then there is Singer, "I have no comment on him as a potential addition for Notre Dame"

Driskell saying the same as Singer.

Uhhhhhhhhh....Buzz Buzz?

Notre Dame wants everything to remain quiet. Not sure why. Loy has been the only one to say something. Driskell and Singer are not talking because they were asked to sit on it.

We only knew about Kaleb Smith, Thomas Harper and Bryon Vaughns visiting because they went public with it themselves.

There is definitely buzz-buzz.

So, this has got to be a more preferred outcome for Notre Dame and seems pretty obvious why Vaughns is out.

I would bet they view him as much more complimentary to Botelho than Vaughns.

And likely can do more with Baptiste than Vaughns.
In his last year at Cincy, Freeman had Myjai Sanders at WDE but he played with his hand down in the 3 down often. At 6'5 249, he's almost a carbon copy to Myjai Sanders 6'5 255. So, Baptiste opposite Mills in the 3 down base, Rubio in the middle, with Botelho operating as one of the "LB's". Now we're cookin.

I prefer Botello on the edge he’s our best weapon next year to get sacks

In that scenario, I think Botelho becomes the wildcard pass rusher of the 3 LB’s. He's probably moved around some. Spends a lot of time stood up outside of Mills. But they could send him from anywhere.

We could probably use them both? But of the two JJB seems more versatile and has played at a higher level. Also have to wonder if there were transcript issues or something like that with Vaughns.

Wonder why they were being so secretive of it or has it been confirmed if this was the secret DL

We're having a very successful portal season.

Even if we didn’t land everyone is definitely shows the staff is really willing to fill the roster. Sometimes they might not be starters but quality depth pieces.

ND does not want word out about visitors because they don’t want to get into bidding wars I would guess

while i understand the thought process here, isnt the recruit generally the one that is going to create the bidding war.

We had no issue letting the cat out of the bag on Hartman and he most definitely had the opportunity to still go to a higher bid.
