I think DL is probably going to be the hardest portal position to recruit for schools. There are only so many players with the right size/athleticism combo to make an impact and virtually every school wants one or multiple.

No, because this isn’t a matter of opinion, it’s fact. Where the argument lies is the number of 5* needed to win a title. I firmly believe, ND’s best chance is the Clemson model. They’ll never match Bama, UGA, OSU in terms of depth, so they have to have a starting 22 that’s comparable in terms of talent, and that team would likely have to be buoyed by an elite QB.

No, bc their roster isn’t good enough and outside of Hartman, they suck in the Portal. Every investment has risk, the key is managing that risk.

I hope I’m opening eyes to the reality of modern college football. It seems like most of you are content to just wish a title would fall into ND’s lap. That’s not happening, especially after next yr with the playoff expansion. There will be no more lucking your way into a title game like TCU (or ‘12 ND if we’re honest), it’s only going to be harder.

ND needs an elite QB!11!! Drew Pyne did not cut it, Buckener is injury prone, and we can't have 5"9 Ian Book clones. Reece hasn't been able to recruit.
