Not all teams with elite recruiting classes win championships. But all champions had elite recruiting classes (usually a #1 class at least once in the 4 year cycle).

This 2021 article is now prophetic as it said "would Georgia be the next champion?"

There’s nothing wrong with what he is saying. You may not like his directness, but his points are valid.
i have no problem with content - averaging over a post an hour since creation of his second account.

We do need 5* talent if we are ever to win another National Championship

There are some very real risks to paying NIL upfront. Coaches work for years to develop and maintain a TEAM culture. I believe that large upfront NIL deals with certain players could definitely harm that culture that they are aspiring to develop.

Ideally we would be able to recruit 3 or 4 five star players each year without the upfront NIL. Just not sure if that's possible in the short term.

Georgia was referenced a few times in this discussion because of the 5 star athletes they are getting and the fact that they destroyed TCU in the national championship. Are they doing large up front NIL deals? I just haven't heard their name tossed around that much in that regard.

The sad thing is the NCAA appears to be relying on congress to provide a structure to regulate college sports.

I can't think of an entity less likely to provide a quick and workable solution to a problem than the US congress.

So we're just going to ignore all the schools that load up on 5 star talent and don't do anything with it, but use Georgia (or even Alabama since that'll be your response) as the only example? Right.....

That's a terrible argument.

Having the 5 stars doesn't guarantee you win a championship.

Not having the 5 stars basically guarantees you won't win a championship.

Isn’t this a direct Kirby quote?

We should all listen to it, then.

5 stars should not be the goal. Top 10 players at their positions should be the goal. You could get top 10 at every position and not land a single 5 star. You get 4 classes with the majority of the players coming from the top 10 at thier position and you will be competing for National championships and have a very good chance at winning one, No 5 stars needed.

That’s incredibly dumb. 5* should always be the goal. It doesn’t mean they’ll land them, but you’re not winning a title w/o any 5*, get that through your head.

When has a team ever won a title w/o a 5*? Hint, never. What a stupid, out of touch take.

My buddy is a GA at a power five school. They brought in a well known transfer last year that essentially ruined their locker room. They gave him what he was looking for up front and it caused a big divided amongst the players

You get done defending yourself because people disagree then go on to call someone else's take, "stupid" and "dumb".

You may not get banned but you are truly an unlikeable dick.

It is stupid bc every bit of data goes against what he’s saying. You’re not winning a title w/o at least a handful of 5* on your roster, that’s just factual.
