Probably couldn’t last admissions with his grades. At least that’s what I’m gonna tell myself.

It seems ND wanted exactly two additions in the secondary, and those were Harper and DJ Brown returning, which was not a guarantee.

Hart, Morrison, Mickey, Lewis, Harper, Henderson, Watts and Brown is 8 bonafide contributors for 5 spots, wherever that ends up sorting out.

Ehh don’t agree with this safety depth is a concern we are an injury away from a nightmare

I think Grey, Bell and scholar maybe even Hillinan can all get snaps if called upon. Especially Grey. I also think Jaiden Ausberry might be our best cover LB on the roster I think he plays day one

Hillman has a massive upside, but he’s got a ton to learn. Gray could very well get some reps in Dime, Bell & Ausberry could play STs right away.

Makes no sense. He’s a lot better than DJ Brown

DJ Brown is a known quantity. Similar to last year returning Griffith, a known vet that is well liked, Griffith’s playing time dwindled even from the beginning of the year, and more and more as Watts came on. I see similar happening this year. Watts and Brown at SS but that split could be flipped from what it was this year.

Catalon is a serious injury concern and someone who played in a specific type of defense at Arkansas while also expecting to be given a starting job. I never was too sold on that as a big solution. A lot could go right for Texas for that to be a nice get, but I wouldn’t bank on it tbh.

Singer mentioned in his weekly recruiting piece, that ND had another DL transfer visit last week/weekend, along with Byron Vaughns. No name coming out yet, though.

Believes Vaughns is 50/50. Not the most confidence in it, squarely due to Vaughns not giving out much.

Yep. And at a certain point, recruiting over established players for a marginal upgrade sends a bad message to the locker room.

F that the message is every position is to be competed for

I think the secret DE/DL visitor was Javontae Jean Baptist Ohio State DE/DL would make since being a former Buckeye and Freeman. Plus singer recently followed him on Twitter

Visited both LA schools this weekend

Thanks Dale.

The thumbnail photo for the article on 24/7 shows a rather bright. cheery and giddy looking Freeman. I assumed it was something more positive.

Sounds like Andrel Anthony could also be OU.

Interesting their fan base whined about Riley and the portal and Venables is importing a whole new team this year. 10 IN and 13 OUT to date.

Usually anti On3 but seen a lot of comments on 247’s portal. On3 actually has a very well done one:

Not sure where to put this but - there has been a lot of discussion about NIL causing players to stay at ND rather than transfer out, which could be a hindrance to optimizing the roster.

Prister said that ND does not guarantee a spot on the roster for 4 years; it does guarantee a scholarship for 4 years to complete a degree. I took this as saying ND will cut a kid from the roster if necessary but allow them to finish school. So there's that.

I don’t think it’s a hinderance necessarily, if it actually is a thing. Let’s say you’re Josh Bryan for example. You could enter the portal right away and see what random G5 schools offer you as soon as possible.

Or you could stay at ND for the spring, get another semester of education and maybe even graduation then. Receive money from FUND. ND doesn’t need to be 85 till fall. Transfer after the spring. Doesn’t really hinder anything as much as just changes the timeline. Transferring after the spring used to be the norm.
