We've crossed into the realm of utterly ridiculous. The thought police and their woke, PC, speech control have made it illegal to say something that's 100% true because it might offend someone who can't deal with reality. A Norwegian filmmaker is facing up to three years in prison because she said men can't be lesbians. Well, you know, as long as they aren't suppressing free speech or dissenting ideas, right?

Norwegian filmmaker faces up to 3 years in prison for saying men cannot be lesbians

Story by Nikolas Lanum • 2h ago

A woman in Norway is facing up to 3 years in prison on criminal hate-speech charges after saying that a man cannot become a lesbian.

Tonje Gjevjon, a lesbian filmmaker and actress, was informed on November 17 that she was under investigation for speaking out against prominent Norwegian activist Christine Jentoft on Facebook. Jentoft is a transgender female that often refers to herself as a lesbian mother.

Jentoft previously accused another woman, Christina Ellingsen, of transphobia for a similar claim. Ellingsen is also under investigation and faces three years in jail if found guilty.

The post on Gjevjon’s Facebook page under investigation read "It’s just as impossible for men to become a lesbian as it is for men to become pregnant. Men are men regardless of their sexual fetishes."

She has said that she intentionally posted her Facebook message to draw attention to Norway’s hate speech laws.

Gjevjon’s comments appear to be under investigation for falling under a 2020 amendment to the country’s penal code that added "gender identity and gender expression" under protected categories from hate speech. People found guilty of hate speech face a fine or up to one year in prison for private remarks, and a maximum of three years for public comments.

Women’s rights activists, including the Women’s Declaration International Norway, which Ellingsen is a representative of, have claimed that the amendment undermined free speech and expression in the country.

This is not the first time that Gjevjon has spoken out on controversial topics surrounding gender and women’s rights.

Last year, Gjevjon confronted Anette Trettebergstuen, Norway’s minister of culture and reality, claiming that misconstruing gender identity and biological sex has "harmful" and "discriminatory" implications for women, especially lesbians.

"Will the equality minister take action to ensure that lesbian women’s human rights are safeguarded, by making it clear that there are no lesbians with penises, that males cannot be lesbians regardless of their gender identity, and by tidying up the mess of the harmful gender policies left behind by the previous government?" Gjevjon asked.

"I do not share an understanding of reality where the only two biological sexes are to be understood as sex. Gender identity is also important," Trettebergstuen replied.

The first discrimination charge in Norway that centered on gender identity was filed in 2018. The case centered on a transgender woman who complained that she was asked not to shower in the woman’s locker room of a sports center, according to female-led news organization Reduxx.

MP of the Finland's Christian Democrats Paivi Rasanen arrives to attend a court session at the Helsinki District Court in Helsinki, Finland on January 24, 2022. Rasanen was acquitted of four charges of incitement against a minority group.

Similar cases have cropped up across Europe, including Finland, where a religious freedom case saw tensions rise between free speech and LGBTQ advocates.

In March, Finnish Member of Parliament Päivi Räsänen and Lutheran Bishop Juhana Pohjola were acquitted of all charges in their case. Räsänen faced three charges of ethnic agitation for a 2004 pamphlet, for taking part in a discussion on a radio show in 2019, and most recently, for tweeting a picture of the Bible.

In a 2019 tweet, Räsänen questioned her church’s sponsorship of an LGBTQ Pride event and linked to an Instagram post with a picture of Romans 1:24-27, which calls same-sex intercourse "shameful."

Pohjola faced one count of ethnic agitation for hosting a pamphlet written by Räsänen on his church’s website similarly critical of gay men and women.

Norway is considered one of the most liberal countries in Europe for LGBTQ individuals, even allowing people to legally change their gender without the need for a medical diagnosis.

“If freedom of speech is taken away, then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.” - George Washington

“Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear." - Harry Truman

“Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation must begin by subduing the freeness of speech.” - Ben Franklin

“Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.” - United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Now that we can be whatever we want, why can't a man be a lesbian? Asking for a friend.

Biden's transgender DOE appointee Sam Brinton has been in the news lately for at least two incidents of stealing women's luggage at airports. The DOE fired Brinton earlier this week for the incidents. Turns out there's more bad news for him. On several occasions Brinton has said that when he was 11 and came out to his parents, his dad punched him and sent him to conversion therapy. Brinton never mentioned where the conversion therapy took place (just that it was in Florida), who ran the therapy, when it took place, etc. In fact, what details he did give seemed to change significantly from one telling to another. Several media outlets reported the story over the years without even a cursory attempt to verify any of it (shocking, right? Why let truth and facts get in the way of a narrative.). Turns out when Brinton and those who've published the story were repeatedly asked to provide details or how they verified the story, they refused to answer. In other words, the entire story was almost certainly made up.

From whom? My guess is that, up to this point, his psychiatrist has put a pretty low priority on truth-telling and conforming to reality:

"You really are a woman, but you don't own that suitcase. Property rights are immutable, unlike biological sex."

Assuming he has a psychiatrist, I'd say he's failing him miserably. Why does he keep stealing? Does he steal for attention? Isn't him doing the "trans" getting him enough attention? That's my unqualified thoughts/opinion after watching doctors on TV.

I think he steals for the same reason most people do……they want something that they don’t want to pay for and think they can get away with it. He is not stealing because of need, he is stealing due to greed.

Not to rail on Brinton, but on a system that is so intent on pushing LGBQTXYZ on us that they use a person's wokeness as the main criteria for appointing them to a position and shortcut the background check. Here we see that Brinton's very high security clearance from the DOE was almost certainly pushed through for social/PR/political reasons in spite of numerous red flags that should have disqualified him for such a clearance. Yeah, let's not let rules, common sense, national security, or any of that other silliness get in the way of a woke agenda. This approach - that sexual orientation, race, and gender trumps actual skill, qualification, ability, and etc. - is why you have a braying, incompetent VP, a lying nitwit as press secretary, a drag queen klepto in the DOE, and so many others in positions for which they're woefully unqualified in any realistic way other than checking off some woke quota box.

Disgraced Nuclear Official’s Security Clearance Doesn’t Add Up, Professionals Say

Story by James Lynch • Yesterday 5:56 PM

BEVERLY HILLS, CA - DECEMBER 02: Sam Brinton speaks onstage during the Trevor Project's TrevorLIVE LA 2018 at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on December 3, 2018 in Beverly Hills, California. (Photo by Jerod Harris/Getty Images for The Trevor Project)

Former officials in multiple presidential administrations are questioning how disgraced genderfluid Biden Energy Department official Sam Brinton received a high level security clearance.

An outspoken LGBTQ activist who goes by they/them pronouns, Brinton was appointed in February and was the first genderfluid person to hold a federal leadership role. Brinton was fired, however, after allegedly stealing luggage at airports in Minnesota and Las Vegas. The former official now faces a felony charge for the alleged theft in Minneapolis, while Vegas authorities have issued a grand larceny charge.

Inconsistencies in Brinton’s origin story were highlighted by news site LGBTQ Nation, pointing to a lack of transparency and differing accounts given by Brinton’s since Brinton first rose to prominence as an LGBTQ activist in 2010.

A former Justice Department Official in the Environment and Natural Resources Division told the Daily Caller it’s possible due diligence on Brinton was sidestepped over concerns about discrimination law and public accusations of discrimination against an LGBTQ person. Such an action would be irresponsible, the former official said, as Brinton’s position within the Energy Department requires comprehensive knowledge of America’s nuclear secrets and extra vetting known as a Q clearance, which can take months to obtain if the bureaucratic process is not expedited.

Brinton’s professed past trauma would also factor into the hiring process, unless the individual had been declared healed, a former White House personnel official for four presidential administrations told the Daily Caller.

Brinton’s New York Times 2018 op-ed disclosing a traumatic upbringing would have been caught by any prior administration’s White House Research Team, rendering Brinton unfit for a political appointment, the former official explained to the Daily Caller. In the piece, Brinton claimed to have been tortured in a gay conversion therapy clinic for over two years, which included having electricity, ice and heat applied to the body to associate images of gay men with pain.

Brinton’s status as a non-presidential appointee indicates the security clearance process was conducted by the Energy Department, not the Biden administration, the former official explained. Concerns about discrimination against the individual would only be discovered if they were previously published or they came up in reference calls or social media, the former official clarified.

Brinton served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Office of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition (NE-8) in the Department of Energy (DoE). Brinton’s archived employee bio says Brinton led and oversaw “programs including the Office of Spent Fuel and Waste Science and Technology and the Office of Integrated Waste Management. ” The NE-8 office “manages ongoing research and development related to long-term disposition of spent nuclear fuel and high-level radioactive waste,” according to the DoE.

The rigorous process for obtaining a security clearance requires disclosing information going back at least 10 years. Subject matter can include financial information and mental health matters to ensure a federal employee is trustworthy and will not be subject to blackmail, the former Justice Department official said. The process is centered around the SF-86 form, a 127 page questionnaire for national security positions applicants can fill out sequentially through an online system. For a non-confirmation position, applicants typically get interviewed by a former FBI agent as part of the process.

The Q clearance is designated as critical sensitive and its access authorization is similar to Top Secret security clearances given by other agencies. Individuals with Q authorization are subject to investigations every five years that are more rigorous than a typical security clearance, the DoE website says.

The Department of Energy did not respond to a request for comment by the Daily Caller. Brinton could not be reached for comment.

Good point about getting clearance when he shouldn’t have received it.

The generation of participation trophies for everyone wants automatic A's for all students at this school...among many other demands. The protest began after teachers went on strike for 25 days this semester for better health care and benefits.

I assumed this was a joke from The Babylon Bee, but no. It's actually real and being reported by multiple news outlets. It's a sad commentary on the world when you can no longer tell the difference between ridiculous, tongue-in-cheek farce and actual news events. We're now seeing the results of raising kids with no critical thinking skills or ability to put facts over wants.

Just for the uninitiated, The New School is mostly an art school (with an activism and sociology school attached), so it’s going to be even crazier than the standard crazy of University demographics, but also much of the coursework was already wildly subjective, and grades don’t matter because there are no career prospects from that school based on grades; just on actual work/portfolios

Sounds a little like grooming, but what could go wrong keeping parents in the dark? After all, it's not their responsibility or right to help their kids or make the proper decisions for them. Still amazed that this guy got that job working for Biden.

Stanford has officially gone off the rails. This is from the NY Post earlier today.

Stanford releases guide against ‘harmful language’ — including the word ‘American’
Story by Olivia Land

Stanford University released a guide this week on “harmful” language that it wants to remove from its online properties — noting that the term “American” is a no-go.

The language guide, which was published Monday, aims to “eliminate many forms of harmful language, including racist, violent, and biased … language in Stanford websites and code.”

Launched in May, the project, known as the Elimination of Harmful Language Initiative (EHLI), lists the prohibited terms under 10 categories including racism, homophobia and ableism.

Under a section titled “Imprecise Language,” the guide advises readers to replace the term “American” with “U.S. citizen.”

“[‘American’] often refers to people from the United States only, thereby insinuating that the US is the most important country in the Americas,” the packet reasons, noting that the region actually includes 42 countries between North and South America.

The EHLI was launched in May to help eliminate harmful vocabulary from Stanford’s websites and code.
Other listed terms include “immigrant,” which should be replaced by “person who has immigrated” or “non-citizen,” to avoid referring to people by single characteristics, while “walk-in hours” is swapped out for “open hours” in order to include those with disabilities. The common phrase “beating a dead horse” is also cautioned against, based on the idea that it normalizes violence against animals.

In addition, the 13-page list outlines several slurs against black individuals, indigenous groups, wheelchair users, LGBTQ+ individuals and others.

“The purpose of this website is to educate people about the possible impact of the words we use,” the guide’s preface read.

“Language affects different people in different ways. We are not attempting to assign levels of harm to the terms on this site. We also are not attempting to address all informal uses of language.”

Still, some readers criticized the publication on social media. “‘Political correctness is fascism pretending to be manners,’” wrote one Twitter user, quoting the late comedian George Carlin.

“Leland Stanford would be ashamed of the institution he cofounded,” media strategist Gabriella Hoffman wrote, referring to the prestigious university’s founder, who was briefly the Republican governor of California.

Leland Stanford would be ashamed of the institution he cofounded. It just forbid “harmful” language such as calling yourself an American and/or an immigrant. 😳

Guess my naturalized legal immigrant American parents and relatives are harmful now! 😑 Opinion | The Stanford Guide to Acceptable Words

— Gabriella Hoffman (@Gabby_Hoffman) December 20, 2022
It is unclear exactly who was in charge of compiling the list for the EHLI. Stanford University did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for a comment.

Whatever your views on the entire trans issue, common sense and any semblance of rational thought should disallow such surgery on minors, or at least minors below the age of 12 or 13. We don't allow them to vote, buy alcohol or tobacco, sign contracts, buy a firearm, drive a car, live unsupervised, get married, or make any other major decisions or life choices because at that age, they're incapable of making informed, reasonable decisions and choices about much of anything. A person who's too young to make a wise, informed choice about having sex is too young to make an informed choice about gender reassignment surgery.
