Again, why the hell aren't our rich alumni and boosters dropping bags for recruits? I don't like it, but since pretty much every prominent program is doing so, why not? It's not like the coaching staff and administration would be able to stop it.

Tbf. Once they prove themselves at ND the NIL is just as good if not better than anyone else. They just aren’t willing to bet the farm on unproven potential.

Maybe the best news is we could get clarity soon. Hopefully the de-commitment comes soon so maybe the staff can identify guys that won’t sign during the ESP

At this point, you can't help but wonder if the staff gets tired of this and going forward decides to focus on guys in the 100-350 range who won't be as likely to receive the NIL attention that the Dante Moore's and Peyton Bowen's of the world do.

Kids can blow out a knee at any time or have a devastating injury and they know this. Take the up front money is the way to go. Or they can hope that they have 3 injury free years, finally cash in on NIL their Junior or senior year from Mission BBQ.....or just take that money upfront from Oregon Nike. No one can claim objectively that NDs deal is better. Hence 5 stars commiting to ND as an Insurance policy and then going for the cash which runs the world and this country

Mission BBQ NIL < Nike

Mission BBQ isn’t how Hamilton and Mayer made 7 figures off NIL. Heck, Chris Tyree and Braden Lenzy aren’t even the best players at their position groups and they have UA deals.

Agree these players should take it, Especially in today’s player valuation environment. It would be like trying to play the long game with your Tulip Farm in 1636. Just sell out & btw you might get to do it again in the Portal.

Still can’t get over the Rutgers Dad who told me their top OL got $450k this year…

The UA deals could be like 5000$ one off payments though

Neither of us know the amount so I could just as easily speculate they were 100k payments. Point is, the claims that mission BBQ is our NIL aspiration is incredibly misguided.

I guess 5 stars recruits aren't excited about having to wait 3 years to maybe get a decent pay day... That sales pitch isn't going to work for program changing players like Moore, Keeley, Bowen.

Need 2 or 3 a class and Mission BBQ and UA 3 years later ain't cutting it.

Hahahaha!!!!!! Don’t you kind of suspect that this is exactly what happened to Kelly?

Dude, give me a break. Have you even thought this through.

The reason they had to wait 3 years is because there was no NIL until then.

maybe because private equity md's are more judicious with the way they spend their money than (say) an oil baron? idk just spitballing but maybe if you're a wall street exec you're a little more gun shy about cutting some 17 year old a multimillion dollar check because of the potential negative publicity if he like goes tyreek hill on his girlfriend or something
