Mayer had better receiving stats across the board than Bowers, and he was higher graded for the season too. Georgia fans say they played a tougher schedule, when in reality our SoS was 26th and theirs was 47th. I fully expect the committee to give it to Bowers because SEC and they're the #1 team, but the tears would be delicious if Mayer deservedly got the award instead.

If Kiper has him as his 8th best overall prospect, it says a lot about the depth and quality of this draft. Nothing against Mayer by any stretch, but if a TE is the 8th best player on anyone's board, this is the year you trade down and get more picks.
