Yeah, he's from Wisconsin, but things up there in GB are kind of tumultuous at the moment. He likely wants to be able to circle back and get the UW job one day whenever Fickell's time is done. The choices he makes now are critical.
Yup, I'm with you; he's kinda like the Defensive version of Tommy: probably a better fit for the NFL long-term since he's not a grinder on the recruiting trail. Would he love to be the HC at Sconny? Sure, but he has time (and Fickell will have a long leash). Then again, maybe Leonhard realizes if he's not a dawg on the trail that his best fit is in the League. If that's the case then why not go and coach Green Bay? Shoot if his unit performs well but LaFleur gets canned next year, maybe he could even be retained.

I am not betting on Fickell to fail anytime soon, I will give you that. Everyone assumed Leonhard was going to get that job permanently and I'm sure he wanted it, but if college football has become all about recruiting now. You have to recruit college kids, your own players and players all over the country enrolled with other programs. If you don't feel like doing that, The League might be your best bet.
Correct, he coached under Rex Ryan, so he has connections via that tree too. Also there's the Dave Aranda connection if he wants another college DC job under a familiar face
