has powlus ever been hurt? hard to medically process him.

I think the common approach is you lay out the depth chart to guys and let them see the light.
You think Powlus cares about the depth chart?? He came here knowing he would almost certainly never take a live snap in a game. Powlus isn't leaving until he graduates.

Was a bad, unnecessary offer. Now we deal with the consequences.

A total hold my beer moment for Rees. We all want 2 QB classes so Rees brings in RP3 as the 2nd QB. Comical shit.

Seems far more likely a BK offer. Why would Rees care if Powlus’ kid is on scholly or what we want with regards to 2 QBs?
To be fair, he has proven to not be the greatest evaluator of QB's. With that being said, my guess is BK was the probably the biggest supporter for Powlus to be in the class.

RPIII was likely a Swarbrick / Kelly gift to his dad that somewhat filled a need. Looks ridiculous in retrospect. For those who don't know, Ron Powlus is Senior Associate AD under Swarbrick.

"In his role, Powlus has oversight of Notre Dame Football’s administrative and operational functions. His main focus areas include budget, scheduling, facilities and non-coaching personnel, while also serving as the program’s main liaison to campus constituents and shaping the program’s strategic vision along with Dick Corbett Head Football Coach Marcus Freeman."

RP3 has the greatest gig in college football. He’s got as much chance of taking snaps as all of us commenting and he’s on a full ride.

Can someone give a reasonable explanation as to why ND fans are so enamored with Card? This a recruiting rankings thing? He was the backup to a Qb that had a worse season than Pyne and most Texas fans I've talked to are baffled we are interested in him.

He cost them the Bama game, cost them the game against tech, and was pretty good against a couple bad defenses.

There are proven options out there
hes been pretty good when he got the oppurtunity, and ewers has only been bad as of late

2022 stats:

Card - 75/108 (69.4%), 928 yards (8.6 Y/A), 6 TD, 1 INT
Ewers - 141/249 (56.6%), 1808 yards (7.3 Y/A), 14 TD, 6 INT

EDIT: And apart from 6 passing attempts in other games, Card compiled his numbers against Alabama, UTSA, Texas Tech, and West Virginia. He didn't just feast on a couple of punching bags.
to be fair wvu is a punching bag this season

xavier worthy just scrubbed his twitter of texas images so maybe

Worthy seems to have bits of drama always follow him, if he’s leaving it’ll be SC though IMO. If he leaves then I would short all remaining stock on Quinn Ewers because that would say a lot. Texas has the money to counter.

When I was going to school there in the early 2000s, employees kids had the ability to go to school for free. Not sure if that had changed or not.

I looked it up a week or so ago. Evidently it's a 50% off tuition discount.

From an IB Intel piece from Ryan Roberts

"Western Michigan defensive lineman Braden Fiske who just entered the portal. I spoke to Fiske about potential interest from Notre Dame and he told me that they are already shown “serious interest.”

He is from Michigan City, Ind.

Nice. I saw Roberts tweet about his piece but couldn't get access. I was curious to who he was talking about.

Fiske has got some beef, and statistically has been productive in his career, especially this season now.

Which makes the point of an offer to RPIII more baffling...
If they are receiving tuition support from the school and on the roster they are a counter.

It's to prevent gaming the system on scholarship limits.

EDIT: Although, who knows. My understanding may be out of date. Everything else about college football has changed.

RPIII being on scholarship ranks as bottom tier priority as possible.

And whoever compares Pyne to Card, please stop.
If you say so. Sounds like yall got a pretty good in depth eval on him so I'll defer to you. Hope yall are right
